Okay, I'm back with an update! It took a bit over a year which shocked me so much I almost choked on my coffee when I realized it. But at the same time, it gave me enough time to think about the plot and how exactly I should continue so all my thoughts would come across right.

Anyway, here we go! I hope you will enjoy this long-awaited chapter! ^.^

The silence that filled the room after Qen's words was almost deafening. No one dared to speak. Those who were working for the Royal family long enough knew why to shut their mouths, and those who had no idea what was going on were too stunned to open theirs.

Corey and the other humans were staring from the intruder to Qen and back with wide confused eyes. Something seemed wrong with the whole situation, but everything was happening so fast, none of them capable of following what exactly just happened. Corey could tell something scandalous was just said, but his thoughts were so mixed up he couldn't figure out what it was.

Just then, when he almost got it, a scared murmur of voices filled the room.

Zhar'sihr's features darkened as he turned his cold eyes towards Qen. It was as if the ice-cold wind blew through the hall, leaving everyone shiver in fear of what was going to happen. All those present could tell something terribly wrong was about to happen, but the moment was so still and so tense that no one dared to move. When the intruder's face fell back into a blank expression, few sighs of relief could be heard across the room.

"You lost the right to call me your child the day you got rid of me," he said, a shadow of a strange emotion flashing over his face for a split second. His voice was flat, and the emptiness in it had a much bigger impact on everyone than yelling would.

A soft gasp of breath resonated through the room, Qen's legs giving up on him. One of the royal guards just barely managed to catch him before he hit the floor, saving him from a bad head injury.

What followed played in front of Corey's eyes in slow motion. Zevleokk's form grew in numbers, his appearance changing into one resembling the intruder. Corey could see how the robe the king was wearing tightened over his body and was suddenly happy he couldn't see his face. He was sure Zev would look ten times more terrifying than any other alien he had ever seen change up until that moment.

"Take my consort to our chambers and get Khirin to check on his wellbeing!" he said, his voice deeper and much more authoritative than before. He didn't even bother to turn around and check if his order had been completed. The guards knew not acting right away could cost them more than just a job.

Intently staring at his eldest son, Zev's shoulders tensed even more. He couldn't believe his eyes when he first noticed him. It was a long time ago but, at the same time, it felt like it had been just yesterday when that fateful accident happened. When they had to leave their son to his death.

"What did you come here for? I have no idea how you survived, but you should have stayed wherever you were up until now. That way, you could have stayed alive a little bit longer. If that state you are trapped in can be called living at all." He positioned himself ready to fight, waiting for Zhar'sihr's reaction. He was aware there were too many people around to let loose and fight with his all might. But with the things as they were, they wouldn't be able to evacuate everyone without Zhar'sihr harming few people. Furthermore, they had no idea whether there were more enemies somewhere among them.

Zev's eldest son started to laugh, an evil sneer appearing on his face.

"Of course you would say that. You and your good old rules. Following the tradition and rules of our ancestors as if nothing ever changed." He shook his head, looking all around the hall.
