I got up and out of under the table as Anneliese and Rogue ran closely behind me. We had to run, this was our lives. I wish I had heard what Jax had said about the safety rooms in the mansion.

Oh how I wished I had listened. The mansion pathways were like a maze, frustrating and leading us to dead ends. Seems like the gods weren't on our side today.

After running for a good solid hour, we were brought back to another dead end. I sigh in despair as we faced back again and was about to head off as Anneliese tugged against a strand of my ebony hair.

I spun around with caution that it could be a Monster.

"What is it Anneliese?" I asked her worriedly.

"I'm exhausted, Violet. We have been running for an hour straight! I can't feel my legs anymore, maybe we should rest for a few minutes."

I was about to protest but Rogue cut in and tried to persuade me.

"She's right. It'd be easier on all of us if we could just rest for a bit." He said in between pants as his knees buckled and collapse onto the floor, legs sprawled.

Anneliese tried to help but once she knelt down, she too wobbled down to her knees. She decided to be dramatic and stood up to which Rogue had to support her legs before she did a diva drop.

I sighed as I clutched my temples and shook my head before joining them as we sat in a circle in silence. It wasn't uncomfortable, just nervous.

The sound of footsteps echoed throughout the hall. The second I heard it, I stealthily got up on my feet and helped the others up. Anneliese equipped her dagger from her skirt and Rogue held his gun forward.

The shadow of someone appeared, but it didn't look like a Monster...

"Violet?!"

Jax came running around the corner with worry across his face. His suit was torn up and his right arm was bleeding, he held a pistol in one hand and a knife in the other.

Before I could think, the first thing I did was to run over to him and gave him a hug. Weird... he wasn't wearing his cologne? Rogue had a suspicion as his body language gave him away. Anneliese stood there with shock, breath shortened and blue eyes widened.

"I've been looking everywhere for you, why are you here with the Fox King and a child of the Serpentinos. Among all of them, you had to choose the child prodigy, "Saber". Her Father was a legend."

I spun around in surprise as Jax's hands rested on my waist and my hands were placed against his chest.

Although Anneliese may be a good "weapon" to others, but I believe she's just a child. If her Mother is still alive, I want to help find her and bring her back.

"Jax—"

"No time to talk, we need to bring you all into our hideout. Half of our army in total of all four houses were wiped out. Let's get outside first, follow me and keep silent."

We scurried behind him as he led us to different pillars, to our relief, the Wolves mansion had not collapse, just a lot of blood shed.

We managed to make it out, but something was...off. I was sure that Jack and Dev would have tagged along, also the monsters in the house like the Ever Cravers and Glide Changelings weren't bothering us...?

There were 2 girls, they were flying in the sky while holding hands. They looked like twins, and were ordering the monsters around.

They noticed us from up there, although they were ordered to kill us, they grinned sadistically in knowing before flying off, arms linked together. Jax returned their smile slightly, I caught it but I didn't want to point it out.
