Edward and I waited for the two to come back. My hand rested on his shoulder as a way to comfort him. I knew nothing would come of the kiss Jake and Bella shared, to Bella anyway, and I think Eddie knew that too so we didn't go after them.

I watched Bella slowly walk back to us with a guilty expression, her face told us everything we needed to know even if we already knew it.

Bella sighed, "you saw?" She asked Eddie, playing with end of her sleeve nervously.

"No. But Jacob's thoughts are pretty loud." He answered and I nodded in agreement, my face twisting with disgust.

"I don't know what happened." She tried to reason.

I stood up and crossed my arms, "yes you did, Bella." I told her truthfully and she looked at me with disbelief.

"You love him." Edward didn't ask, he knew. Though he seemed pretty calm about it right now, his thoughts weren't.

"I love you more." She stepped forward, trying to get closer to her mate.

"I know." He smiled as if he had won the game and his prize was the girl he loved, it sickened me, it really did. "It's starting."

I saw Seth and Nate walk out from the trees once again.

I frowned with concern towards my pack and took in a deep breath, "you all better get back to me safe." I told the pack through the link and in seconds I got a response. In the distance we all heard around seven wolves howl into the silence and I smiled.

Edward looked at me with a raised eyebrow while Bella looked worried and confused, "what happened? is someone hurt?" She rushed out, looking at me for answers.

"She just sent out a message Bella, the wolves are responding. Everyone is safe." Edward gave his mate a gentle smile.

"You can do that?" She asked with wonder and I nodded with a grin, I was quite proud of myself right now.

"Jacob just got there. They're good." Eddie informed us, although the expression he wore worried me.

"Someones hurt?" Bella asked again.

He shook his head, "she's close. I can hear her thoughts." Eddie growled to himself.

I turned to the two wolves, one considerably bigger than the other, "boys go." I ordered and they quickly ran off.

"She knew we weren't there, but she caught my scent. She knew you were with me and Violet."

"She found us?"

"She's not alone." I cut in, looking over my shoulder to the two vampires, the boy standing there while Victoria stood watching in a tree nearby. The red eyes boring into us like lasers, I couldn't help but snare at the new threats before us. I took a step in front of my sister protectively, I felt Bella wrap her hand around my wrist to show me she was there.

Eddie stepped forward and tried to reason with them just like his father would, "Riley, listen to me. Victoria is just using you to distract me. She knows I'll kill you." Victoria jumped down next Riley and glared at Edward, "in fact, she'll be glad she doesn't have to deal with you anymore." Edward was speaking the truth, all I could hear was hate towards everything from Victoria, all she wanted was death.

"Don't listen, Riley. I told you about their mind tricks." Victoria told him softly, keeping him on her side.

"We." Eddie gestured towards me and both of their eyes snapped to me, "can read minds, so we know what she thinks of you." Their eyes didn't stray from me and neither did mine. It was as if we were weighing each other up, trying to figure out what it took to take each other down. That's what I thought at least.

Victoria broke the stare, "He's lying." She told Riley quietly.

"She only created you and this army to avenge her true mate, James. That's the only thing she cared about, not you." Edward said but didn't look as if he agreed with himself and what he had said, was I missing something?

Victoria gave him a loud growl but only turned back to Riley, "there's only you. You know that." She was using the poor boy and he was going to get killed for it, how could people be this horrible?

"Son, you need to stop this." I spoke up demandingly, "what has she told you? We are innocent people, we have done nothing except rightfully kill her mate in self defense. Think about it. You're from Forks. You know the area. That's the only reason she chose you. She doesn't love you, boy." I shook my head, my voice showing sympathy for him.

Victoria frowned, "Riley . . . Don't let him do this to us. You know I love you. Remember the plan." She whispered setting Riley's mind to what she wanted.

"You're dead." Riley yelled with a harsh glare, he ran towards me with inhuman speed. Everything around us seemed to slow down as my eyes tried to catch Riley's speed and actions.

Victoria reached her hand out in that split second, "NO!" She shrieked, her eyes widened as she watched. But before Riley could pounce on me a flash of brown fur jumped him and bit into his shoulder aggressively. Seth threw Riley around effortlessly until his hand had come straight off with his teeth. I winced as I thought of the fact the boy had no hand but quickly put my attention towards the other vampire with red eyes.

I stopped Edward from running at her, "Victoria, listen to me!" I yelled to her and she came to an abrupt stop. The only sound was Riley and Seth growls of frustration and anger. "I know you . . I used to know you. You were once a scared little girl who never knew the comfort of a father, who was cherished by a mother, who was looked up to by a brother. And who was loved and cared for by a sister." I explained, I felt the saddness show and I didn't stop it,

"something happened to you, something I may never get to know. But I do know that what your father did was wrong. He shouldn't have taken you out to die like that. I know your sister would have protected you if she knew . . . It was no ones fault but his and you can't keep blaming everyone for what happened."

It was silent, as if everything had stopped to listen to my little speech and Victoria's response, I also wanted to know what she would say. We all seemed to leaned in just to hear although we would be able to hear the faintest whisper over a raging storm, it was the anticipation that brought us in.

For a moment I wondered if she would just ignore me and turn back to her plan and I thought she would if it wasn't for when she opened her mouth and what she spoke afterwards that had me doubting everything I knew about this woman.

What she said shocked every single one of us and maybe even herself.
