Unfortunately , the night that Carlisle had lost his life during one of his raids in hunt for a Vampiric Coven—Catherina had ended up losing her will on life herself.

Through her grief and despair, Catherina had made the wrong choices and somehow ended up getting pregnant at only of the age nineteen. However, despite those turn of events, she chose to raise her child Thornton on her own.

Though, luck was not on their side when the mother and son were both kidnapped by a vengeful witch coven. The very Coven, that Catherina and Carlisle's father had hunted, during his religious upheaval. The time he claimed of ridding the world of evil and sin.
