"What are you doing here!" His gruff voice growled at her

"Bringing you home" Yanni said incredulously

He shook his head his disheveled unruly locs fluttering around his head

"You should not have come here, It is dangerous I-"

Yanni  gripped his strong jaw that she loved so very much, forcing his gaze onto hers

"Without you there is no me"

He pressed his forehead against hers inhaling her like a sudden breath of fresh in  in the cloying scent of despair that consistently permeated Tartarus

"I...Love you.... Yanni"

Her tears streamed harder at his admission. It was the first time he had ever spoke them

"Come. Its time to get you out of here". Yanni said between sniffles

"No, i have to stay. I made a deal and i must honor it"

"No Ares,  i refuse to accept that. I came here to save you and that's wha-"

"Yanni!  if i leave  my deal would be forfeit. You could return to the underworld. Is that what you want?"

"Like i said there is no me without you. Whether I'm there or not what different does it make if we don't have each other ....Ares please"

He hung his head seeming conflicted. After a long moment of deliberation, he nodded and stared deeply into my eyes

His own spoke of all the emotions he always held a close reign on. Yanni's heart soared and pounded as she read everything he truly felt, yet suppressed, that matched her own feelings

Together they rose to their feet, but before they could move a snarl echoed cutting into the silence

Ares whipped around with a snarl, prepared for attack

Yanni's heart plummeted immediately

It was not a creature, but a titan

The titan Oceanus

He growled eyeing us with  particularly vicious intent

"It must be my lucky day"  he said his voice was so deep it sounded painful to hear

Ares stared him down unflinchingly,  saying nothing

Yanni pulled on his arm hoping he would flee with her and forget the male, but she should have known better Ares was not one to run or cower from a fight

whether he could win or not

"Ares please! I just found you. I pleaded tears glistening once again on my lashes" Yanni begged

Ignoring her Ares stepped toward the threatening male

"Hermes died to save you,  don't let his sacrifice be in vain"

That stilled his steps. She sensed his hesitation and  devastation at her confession

"Please?........I.....I love you... don't do this...Please"

Ares for all his formidability was still no match for a titan

He spun pulling her close and forcing a bruising kiss against her  lips. Yanni melted immediately against him savoring his succulently mouth as he plundered her own

then he turned and charged 

"ARES!!" Yanni screamed 

They met in a clash of steel and limbs and teeth, snarls and fury

Yanni could do nothing but watch with bated breath as the male she loved fought to the literal death against a enemy that he could not defeat

Ares slashed and jumped. pierced and twirled . He cut so many holes into the male it was a miracle he was still standing. 

But he was a titan. He wouldn't, couldn't be easily taken down.

Unwillingly to concede Ares continued  slicing into him then Oceanus began to retaliate and cut back at Ares. 

His sliced into Ares' bicep along with his back then his side and shoulder. 

On and on the fight progressed. 

Finally when she could no longer stand aside and just watch. This titan would most likely  kill her...Again,  But her  love was being slaughtered  and suddenly her  own safety no longer felt relevant

Yanni raced forward ready to aid her love when a blinding light and explosive force suddenly appeared flinging her back

She hit the ground hard. Blinking and squinting to see

The figure fought against the Titan killing him in seconds. When the light dimmed a little the figure Yanni saw caused her breath to hitch in shock and trepidation

Zeus..............................
