"You made him?!" Your voice pitches as your eyebrows raise, making Latesco flinch back from your suddenly loud tone. Lofty stays unfazed, merely nodding at you as he hums.

"It is his duty to seek out The Tree Of Life, to which he has done quite exemplary." He responds with a calm tone, proudly smiling at the masked creature. He pats Latesco's head, looking down at him like a proud father.

You find yourself smiling at the cloaked being, thankful that you didn't have to go hunting for such a tree. Your mind wonders of when Lofty made him, especially because you don't remember him so much as mentioning Latesco's name.

You hear something smack into the door, making your brows knit as you turn you head to the glass entrance. Your head tilts as you squint, seeing something on the other side. Missy hovers up to your eye level, rubbing her forehead as her head bobs from side to side.

You gasp, quickly standing up and opening the door for her. She mumbles a groggy "thank you" before fluttering out. With a quick shake of her head, she's back to her normal self. You notice her frightened expression when she turns to you.

"The clock looms twelve! Almost commencing your date of birth!" She squeals worriedly, her hands balling into fists to stop them from trembling. Your heart drops to your stomach.

Words that used to make you full of excitement now fill you with terror and dread. You were feeling hungry earlier, but now you think if you were to eat anything then you would most definitely throw up. You suck in a shaky breath, pursing your lips before nodding at the fae.

Lofty's eyes widen. He can't believe he's wasted this much time on mere chatting as your life slowly comes to an end. "Latesco," The wooden creature huffs, looking down at the cloaked figure. He sees the short being back up from him before locking eyes with him and nodding.

Lofty breathes in the fresh air before continuing. "Where does The Tree Of Life reside? And how swiftly are we able to arrive there?" He quickly asks the short being, feeling a sense of urgency now that Missy has stated what little time they have.

You listen in on the conversation, curious as to how Latesco can speak without a mouth. To your surprise, he responds with no problem and little hesitation. Your brows furrow as your head tilts. You can't understand a single word that chimes from the cloaked creature.

Some words resemble English, whereas others sound very different from the language you know so well. Missy sees your confusion and smiles softly before explaining. "Latesco speaks only in Latin. I am able to translate, if you wish." She says with slight sorrow in her tone. You wonder why she seems sad, but quickly remember the nearing of your birthday, which will also bring your impending death.

You hum before nodding, knowing that your nosiness won't allow you to accept not knowing what Latesco is saying. Missy bobs her head, turning to the pair of creatures before looking back at you.

"The Tree Of Life resides in a forest of the nineteenth dimension. It is a realm of things casted out of this world so no human could ever use their powers for evil." She explains to you before turning back to Latesco to listen.

You're left befuddled, blinking rapidly as your mouth hangs slightly ajar. You have no idea what she means, but your mind recites every word she said to try and decipher the message she was trying to get across. 'Maybe it all got lost in translation?' You wonder to yourself, thinking that Missy's English is nowhere near as good as you think it is.

"No. It is but the truth." Lofty chimes, making your head snap in his direction. Your brows crinkle before you quickly remember that he's unable to stop himself from reading your mind. Your eyes stay locked with his as you tilt your head, silently asking him to explain.
