Chapter Eleven

When your brother returns to bring you to the gym, you follow with only your notebook and pen in hand. You walk in and see the girls jogging up to you.

"Today is going to consist of several practice matches. Aoba Johsai is expected to arrive tomorrow, so there will be more going on. The key goal here is to keep track of the score and take notes on the games" Kiyoko informed you.

You nod and take a seat on a bench on the Karasuno side of the net. After the teams line up to welcome the match, Kei jogs over to you.

What are you doing? You're in the starting lineup! you sign.

He hands you a small whistle. The side had a tiny dinosaur sticker on it. It truly was something your brother would think of. "If you need to get someone's attention and I'm not looking or able to help, use this, ok?" You nod and he pets your head before returning to the court.

Both teams aww at the sight before Kei turns at the sight, glaring straight to their soul. The game began.

The sets ended 23:25, 28:26, and 22:25 in favor of Fukurodani. The boys went to go rums a few laps while you, Kiyoko, Yachi, and the two Fukurodani managers go to prepare lunch.

The games in the afternoon had a similar result with the points being close but ultimately Karasuno lost. Your brother was pulled of the court for one of the sets and was told to sit on the bench you were on.

He held his head low and hardly reacted. You slightly blow the whistle, so as not to disturb the game. He immediately looks up to you, tears on the brims of his eyes.

You did so well out there! Why would you be upset? Look at you guys! you sign encouragingly. You take his glasses from him, cleaning the lenses.

"No matter how hard we try, we still can't beat them. They are so much stronger and we can't do it..." he mumbles.

Then tonight we practice. That is allowed, right? I might be able to leave dinner early to join you and we can work together like we used to with Akiteru, deal?

"Akaashi and Bokuto normally practice late and-"

You hold a finger to his lips. That just means we can get practice against them. It's perfect, trust me. He nods and gives you a side hug. Before he gets called to be put back in. You almost see a bit more hope in his face than usual, and it makes you smile.

Though Karasuno is still clearly behind, they are close and really push Bokuto. You saw the ace enter his "emo mode" several times within the afternoon and you were a little nervous at first, but luckily you saw how quick it ends and feel comfortable during it again.

As promised, you were able to leave the cafeteria early and return to the gym. Luckily, you could hear the squeaking of sneakers, so you didn't get too lost.

"Tsukishima, if you are gonna practice your blocking, why is she here? Did she need something from you?

The three boys within the gym turn and see you at the doorway. Kei runs up to you and hands you a more comfortable pair of sweats for you to change into and points the way to the bathroom just outside the gym. When you return, he brings you in. Your hair is tried up and you are ready to play.

"AWW! Tsukki Dude! Your girlfriend is super cute!"

"She my sister, idiot. And she's here to play, right Y/N?" You nod proudly.

The other two just look confused when you get into position. Akaashi reluctantly sets the ball to Bokuto and you run into position, jumping in time to block Bokuto's spike before your brother even can react. The two on the other side of the net look at you in complete confusion as to how you blocked the ball that easily on your own.

They watch confusingly as you sign to your brother. "So that what I have to do? I see..."

"Uh...what just happened here?!" the boys ask in unison.

"She has two volleyball players for brothers. Of course we would teach our sister, too. She's better than both me and Akiteru combined."

You smile and quickly sign something that made your brother laugh. He translated for the other two who looked confused as ever.

"It's nice to meet you.
I am Tsukishima Y/N, and
I'm ready to kick your asses!"
