"Cough! Cough!" the trolls coughed, as they stopped running, the liquid turning into a gas around them.
"Don't breath it in!" Branch warned, coughing. "It's poison!"
Quickly everyone started holding their breath, except Cooper who inhaled deeply.
"It doesn't smell like poison," he said. "It smells like..."
Suddenly, before he could finish, he fainted, falling to the ground.
"Copper!" Poppy yelled.
Everyone continued trying to hold their breath, but soon Synth just couldn't take it anymore, passing out beside Cooper. Then Prince D fell, leaving only Poppy and Branch.
Quickly, he grabbed onto her, hugging her tight. They both knew they couldn't hold their breath any longer.
"I love you, Poppy," Branch said, holding her tight.
"I love you too, Branch."
Poppy's eyes began to flutter, as she went limp in Branch's arms, but he continued, hugging her, crying softly, until he too, couldn't stay awake any longer, both of them flopping to the ground.
