Chapter 29- Goodbye

Carlos P.O.V

I was sitting in the waiting room when a doctor started walking towards me

"Family of Lexi Garcia Smirnov," the doctor said and I nodded

"Yes. Is she okay? Can I see her?" I asked standing up

"She needed 10 stitches on her arm since her cut opened. She had a sprained ankle and bruising. Nothing serious. You can see her now" the doctor said

I immediately started following him to Lexi's room

As we entered I saw Lexi who had a bruise on her face, but she still looks beautiful

"I will leave you here. She should wake up soon" the doctor said and left

I walked over and sat next to her and held her hand

"I'm so happy you are okay. I love you so much" I said and kissed her hand

Lexi's P.O.V- (3 hours later)

I open my eyes and close them instantly

I gave it a few minutes and adjusted to the light and opened my eyes

The first thing I see is Carlos sleeping on my hand

"Carlos" I whispered as I tried to remove my hand but he just held it tighter

"Carlos. Let go of my hand" I said as I shoved him which cause him to groan

"CARLOS" I yelled which made him jump and is now wide awake

"My hand," I said and he let go of it

"Lexi. Your up. How are you feeling? You okay?" Carlos asked as he smiled at me and I nodded and smiled back

I felt my neck and didn't feel the necklace

"Carlos. Where is it? Where is it? I had it on me" I said panicking since I didn't have the necklace on

"Where is what, Lexi?" Carlos asked confused

"My necklace. I had it on. Where is it?" I said and Carlos got up and looked through the bag of my belongings

"Is this it?" Carlos said as he held up the necklace and I nodded

"I have seen this necklace before," Carlos said and I nodded as I placed it back on my neck

"It's Alessandro's he gave it to Me," I said with my eyes watering

"Right. That's the necklace the Spanish mafia leader wears. Why did he give it to you" Carlos asked and a tear fell from my eye

"You know. I tried calling them, but none of them answered. Do you know why?" Carlos said

"Did Amanda not tell you?" I said and he shook his head no

"They went with me on the mission," I said and he looked at me confused

"So where are they?" Carlos asked and I just broke down

Carlos immediately hugged me and I just stayed in his embrace crying about the loss of my brothers.

"They went with me to go kill faith, but faith trapped us and I couldn't untie them. It's my fault. I killed them. I tried to untie them, but I couldn't without a knife. There was a bomb connected to the door and it was about to go off, but they were still tied" I said while crying

"I didn't want to leave them, but they said that even if I untied them, they wouldn't fit through the window. So I should just go and live my life. I refused but in the end, I left them" I said and Carlos just hugged me tighter
