(BLAZA POV)

I rushed down the hallway to the bridge, where Akik was flipping a bunch of switches in panic. He obviously knew what he was doing, but I didn't know what he was doing.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"Asteroid field. The asteroids are moving pretty fast, too," Akik said, "I completely forgot about this part."

"HOW DO YOU FORGET ABOUT AN ASTEROID FIELD?! IT'S HUGE!" I exclaimed.

"It's been a while!" Akik replied, annoyed.

I heard the other rush into the bridge, all as worried as I was.

"What's happening?" Oompa said, "I'm assuming the flashing red lights are not a good sign!"

"No, they're not," Akik said, "Asteroid field, straight ahead."

"We went through a black hole only a few days ago, how is this less than we can handle?" Meme asked.

"The shields protect against pressure, not contact," Akik explained, "We get hit, we're done!"

Akik flipped some more switches and pressed a button. Suddenly, a translucent blueish sheen appeared over the space-shield - probably a shield.

But no sooner than a few seconds later, I saw one of the asteroids coming straight for us.

"AKIK!" I shouted.

Akik looked up and, his eyes wide with fear, pulled over on the wheel thing (I don't know what else to call it) to dodge. The large rock just narrowly missed the side of the ship.

Akik sighed. "There's no way we're getting through there in the shape this ship is in."

He looked over to the navigation system (that I had no idea how to read), then over at another button labeled "Distress."

"I was saving this for last resort, but I guess this is as last as resort gets," Akik said.

And at that, he pressed it.

"Kinlay! Come quick!"

The angel, Kinlay, looked up from where he was staring at a map and rushed over to the Hybrid.

"What is it, Lanori?" he said.

"We just picked up a distress beacon from just outside the Chronic belt," Lanori said, "But we haven't sent out missions that far in months!"

Kinlay looked at the small dot in the top corner of the screen closely. That wouldn't do anything, for the dot is the same for every beacon, but still he looked at it.

"It's... it's him," he breathed.

"It's who?" Lanori questioned.

"Send out a recovery party," Kinlay said, "And get me in communications with that ship!"

Lanori nodded and sent put herself on the comms. "Squad 3, please report to the main hangar to begin a recovery mission. I repeat, Squad 3, please report to the main hangar to begin a recovery mission."

Lanori then tapped a few buttons and handed the headset and to Kinlay. Kinlay grabbed it and put it on.

"Command to Socks. Socks, do you come in?"

Silence.

Suddenly, a voice popped up at the other end.

"Kinlay! Is that you? You got the beacon!"

Kinlay sighed with relief. "Socks, stay right where you are, we're sending a recovery squad now. We're bringing you home."
