this is the (rough draft of the) summary for pluto projector, a scott lang fanfic that i'm SO excited abt:

WENDY DRAPER WAS VERY ACCUSTOMED TO DOING THINGS ALONE; however, she preferred to describe herself as "independent." Growing up, she didn't have a particularly stable home life, essentially being forced to raise her sister and herself from the ripe age of eleven. Although, she was able to rely on her grief-stricken neighbor who had recently lost his wife and supposedly had two daughters whom Wendy had never met (and never heard anything about), but Mr. Pym would always make the two girls three meals a day and was the closest thing to a mature adult figure either of them had in their lives, and that was all that she needed.

Before entering high school, Wendy's parents were revoked custody of their children, resulting in she and her sister being shipped across the country from San Francisco to New York to live with their aunt-who'd been trying to acquire custody of her nieces for years due to the unsuitable states of her sister and brother-in-law. There, Wendy finally found a genuine group of friends who would end up lasting a lifetime, as well as being able to actually be a teenager rather than an adult an entire decade early.

After graduating with a PhD in astrobiology, Wendy soon received a job offer at the NASA Center in Silicon Valley and made the move back across the country, right to her hometown. While she would've rather lived in a different place than her childhood home that was definitely not full of many happy memories, the mortgage was already paid and it was close enough to work that it was the most convenient option - plus her parents no longer lived there, so those were two less problems to worry about.
