one of my most faqs is how i make my graphics and, by proxy, what fonts i use, so i'm here to share all of my most frequently used graphic thingies ☺️😚
APPS & WEBSITES ( IN ORDER OF USE )
o1. google images
where i get 99% of my pics and gifs for graphics
o2. pinterest
where i get the other 1% of my pics for graphics, as well as textures/overlays
o3. picsart
picsart is quite literally ur one stop shop for graphic making. i use it for basically everything and while there's def a learning curve in the beginning, i feel that it's very simple to use and figure out. i just use the basic version but lots of ppl recommend the premium version!
o4. photopea
this is actually a website (photopea.com) and is essentially a free version of photoshop aka a Godsend 🙏🏼. i primarily use this to edit gifs but will use it for other graphics from time to time
o5. phonto
phonto is where i upload my fonts (get it? "phont-o"...like "font-o?" ...ok i'll stop) and type out words. i usually use a transparent background and type the words on top of that, then add the transparent image to my project on picsart, that way i can maneuver the font to be wherever i want it
o6. polarr
this is a filter app, and where i add filters to my non-gif graphics after they're finished
o7. deviantart
this is another graphic uploading app but is also where i download filters for my gifs. the filters are in .psd format (photoshop document) but they work just as well on photopea. every now and then i'll look at .psd templates on here but i've always ended up making my own graphic since i'm so picky haha
EDITING PROCESS
o1. find images
i almost always start w looking for images on google images. my search differs depending on what i'm making. for example, for covers i'll look up "[celeb] photoshoot", for manips i'll look up "[celeb] with someone" or "[celeb] with [other celeb]" if applicable, or i'll look thru their instagram for more natural-looking pics. for gif manips, i just look up "[celeb] gif hunt" and search thru all of them until i find what i'm looking for
for textures/patterns/details, i use pinterest and either use one of the textures already saved in my "graphics" board (my pinterest is linked in my carrd in my bio) or search up "textures"or whatever specific thing i'm looking for
o2. put together graphic
pretty self-explanatory. u gotta actually make a graphic to begin w. this is when i use either picsart or photopea. for a more detailed graphic/gif tutorial, i would just google one since from past experience, i tend to explain things in a way that make sense to me, but not necessarily to everyone else lol
o3. add overlays & text
overlays include the aforementioned textures, my trademark ("written by clinquaant"), text, etc. for any text, i type it out on phonto on a transparent background > save as png > add it onto my og graphic so that i can position it however i'd like
o4. add filter
for covers/manips, i use polarr and for gifs, i download filters from deviantart and add them like an overlay
TOP FONTS
glowist is what's used on all of my covers. i edit it in photopea using edit > transform > warp > flag
for all of my fonts, i download them from dafont.com and upload them to the app phonto. here are my top ten fonts that i use the most often:
glowist / old london
greatest richmond / made sunflower
cocogoose demibold / daft brush
royal acid / georgia bold
im fell dw pica italic / mermaid boldwriting out all the steps makes it seem like making graphics is easy peasy lemon squeezy but it is def not all the time...anyway, hope someone found this helpful, thx for reading as always 🤍
