Trigger Warning
-Toxic Relationship

Y/n POV

"So?" I asked watching Wally impatiently, I bounced on my heels as he took a bite of the apple pie I had made this morning,
"Melts in your mouth perfect!" I squealed out, excited to have someone to share my baked goods with. I stared at Wally and he took another bite, seeming to decide if he liked it or not, I smiled and rolled my eyes,
"I have regular apples if you would prefer neighbor," I leaned on the chair and Wally perked up, he sheepishly nodded.

"Sorry neighbor, I don't mean to be rude-," I laughed and cut him off as I turned and then tossed him an apple,
"It's alright, I didn't like pie till I was, hmm, 14 I believe. Well cold pie at least," I smiled and slid the plate of apple pie from Wally in front of me and picked up the fork.

"Is that right neighbor?" Wally asked before taking a bite of his apple, I nodded as I took a bite of the apple pie, and I hummed as it melted in my mouth.
"Wow, these apples are even juicier than the ones at Howdy's!" Wally smiled and happily took another bite of the crisp apple, I smiled and felt a blush creep onto my face,
"I give Howdy most of the good ones, I do keep a few really good ones." I felt my cheeks darken when Wally looked up at me, his eyes were wide.

"You mean, you give Howdy apples?" He sounded amazed, and I nodded and took another bite of pie,
"Well, yeah. Not just apples, almost all of his fruits and vegetables are from my farm, I'm a farmer." I smiled and felt proud of my little cottage and farm life here in the neighborhood,
"We should get some rest, you can sleep in my bed." I smiled and turned to rinse my plate and fork.

"Oh neighbor, no I couldn't possibly take your bed," Wally shook his head and I smiled,
"It's fine Wally, I insist," I set the dish and fork to dry and turned back to Wally with a smile,
"I could use the company," Wally's face turned a dark red and he began to stutter.

"O-oh! Neighbor I-i-" My face turned red as I realized what I had said,
"W- wait! That came out wrong! I mean, I like your company, but um. . ." Both of us were red and we locked eyes before starting to laugh, the awkwardness of our words falling away.

-~Timeskip~-

When Wally woke, he was alone and it took him a moment to realize where he was, Y/n's little cottage not far from the neighborhood. Wally sat up and rubbed the sleep from his eyes, his ears perked up when he heard soft singing coming from outside.

Wally got up from Y/n's soft bed, his eyes landed on a small pile of nearly folded clothes, the ones he had worn last night in the soaking rain, Had Y/n cleaned and dried them for him?

Wally quickly changed from the loose pajama pants and shirt you had given him, mentioning something about them being a change of clothes for Howdy because of how messy you got in the kitchen when baking, especially with company.
Wally could still hear your singing as he made his way through your small home and outside, it took him a moment but he followed your voice around to the back of your cottage.

Wally looked all around, from the cobble path under his feet to all the many fruits, vegetables, and flowers you had growing all over your property. As he got closer he began to actually hear the words to the song that left your lips,

"I'm not one to lecture, talk down to a friend," Wally loved the sound of your voice,
"I don't mean to pressure, mean to condescend.
But I just want what's best for you in the end," Wally started to take in your words, his steps slowing down.

"I know you don't wanna let go," Wally wondered if you felt like you were singing to a younger you,
"And just like before, I can see that you're sure, You can change him but I know you won't," Wally's heart ached at how your voice seemed to waver, had you been broken-hearted before moving here?
