chapter 3: friendships

The girl quietly rushes towards us and sits next to me as Hope was squished on the other side.

"Where are we?" The girl whispers.

Me and Hope glance at each other and shake our heads.

She sighs.

"Who are you?" She directs looking back and forth between us.

"I'm Hope." Hope says politely.

"Jenni." I say simply.

She nods in acknowledgement.

"I'm Elena." She says looking a little less frantic and more friendly.

I smile.

"You tried saving me." She says after a few seconds as realization appears on her face.

We nod.

"Why would you do that? Now your stuck here too." She says in curiosity and defeat.

"We can't just watch while you get taken by a vampire and do nothing." Hope says shrugging.

The girls eyes widen.

"You know about vampires?" She whispers innocently.

Me and Hope glance at each other and and smirk.

"Shouldn't we If I am one?" I say knowing that Hope's coverup plan is a witch.

I use my nail and slice a bit of my skin and it heals a few seconds later.

I look up at Elena and her eyes widened and she backs away a bit.

"She's not gonna hurt you." Hope says.

I give a small smile.

Elena nods relaxing but obviously still tense.

"What about you Hope?" She questions quietly.

Me and Hope make eye contact and she looks at me to see if she should say vampire as well but i shake my head a little.

"Witch." She says quietly leaning in.

Elena's eyes widen.

"Really." Elena say's excited.

Hope nods proudly.

"Can you show me something?" Elena wonders.

Hope thinks.

"I can do lots of things but i'll just do something small." Hope explains as Elena nods exited and gets on her knees as I watch in interest.

"Ignarious." Hope whispers.

Pointing at a corner of the room as it lights up in flames.

Elena rises on her knees in amazement as we watch the fire crackle with heat.

"Adiuuatur." Hope says and the fire goes out leaving the area burnt and smoking.

"That was amazing!" Elena whispers.

I smile proud for Hope and nod.

"Really it was nothing. I've been doing that since I was 8." Hope shrugs off.

"8? That's so young." Elena says astonished.

"Yeah I was kinda born into it." Hope says sadly.

I grab her Hand in comfort.

"What about you Jenni? How'd you become a Vampire?" She says with some pity in her eyes and curiosity shining through.

"Well I died." I say simply.
