Witches in lots of media use or have wands! Wands are used in modern witchcraft, but not how you'd think.
Common uses of a wand in modern witchcraft: -cast a circle -direct energy (I actually think that's about it)
Now what can a and be made out of? The answer is, anything really! Find a cool stick-wand! An old chopstick-wand! The stick from a rock candy lollipop-wand!

You can tie crystals on the end of your wand, attach herbs to the wand, or even your own hair!
But what is comes down to is that the wand is a tool you use to point. So if it's easy to point with, than your good to go!
