"Thank you." Hinata muffled before retreating back to his seat on the other side of the table

"I like that dog." Kageyama said in an attempt to change the focus of what everyone was so obviously thinking about

"Yeah, you probably like it because it looks exactly like your ratty old dog."Tsukishima said, needing a distraction because the only thing he could think about was hinatas lips

And as for hinata, he was sitting there, cheeks still red looking down at his hands as their grip tightened on his thighs in an attempt to stop his brain from replaying the previous events

"He's not ratty, and he's not even that old!!" Kageyama stated while flicking through his camera roll to find a picture of his dog "here see!!"

Kageyama showed the table a picture of his dog with got laughter from tsukishima, a face of fear from hinata, and a big smile from Yamaguchi

"I remember when he bit my sock off."hinata said face still frozen in fear

"He's so cute, tobio!" Yamaguchi said

"Your taste is so bad. In animals and in people Tadashi."

"SHHH DONT EVEN SAY THAT." Yamaguchi mumbled, waving his hands in the air

Eventually, the group of boys finished up their drinks and headed out to play volleyball, hinata skipping alongside kageyama while Yamaguchi gave tsukishima 'the eye

"Why are you looking at me like that, tadashi?"

In response, tadashi gave an even meaner glance

"Is this because I said you have bad taste? Because I mean it and won't be taking it back. "

"NOT THAT BUT IM STILL MAD AT YOU FOR THAT,"

"mhm, what then?"

"You and hinata. You told me just the other day that you don't have anything going on, and that little moment didn't look like 'ew, I don't like hinata like that chill tadashi' I'm not mad I'm just so disappointed you didn't tell me" Yamaguchi frowned

"WHAT??? OMFG NO." Tsukishima shouted," Lucky enough for him,hinata and kageyama already bolted the second the volleyball court was visible,

"Don't lie to me, kei," Yamaguchi said, with his hand on his head being a little over dramatic

"I'm not."

"Okay, but you like him, right?"Yamaguchi questioned

"I-" just as tsukishima was about to finish his sentence

"HURRY UP,"kageyama shouted while hinata stood on the court, throwing the ball up and down, catching it each time,

Tsukishima and yamaguchi glanced at one another, knowing that the conversation wasn't over just yet

"Okay, but what if I wanted to be a team with yamaguchi?"hinata questioned as they were deciding the teams

"Well, you can't," tsukishima stated

"Why not?"

"Because I don't want to be with kageyama." this was a sensible decision from tsukishima as whenever they play together as a duo, they always end up arguing, and they were on somewhat decent terms right now

"Yeah, agreed, so I'll go with yamaguchi, and you two can be together," kageyama suggested

Neither of the boys could say no because it would only heighten the tension between them, which was already very apparent, as they hadn't made eye contact since "the moment"

"Okay, coolllll,"hinata exaggerated

"Right."Tsukishima said somewhat blankly

The group of boys played a total of 5 sets of kageyama and yamaguchi winning 4 seen as hinata and tsukishima could barely look at eachother let alone communicate

"I'm so hungry," yamaguchi moaned as they approached coach ukai's store

"LET'S GET MEAT BUNS!!"Hinata shouted, not showing any signs of being tired at all

the boys entered, the store said hi to their coach and went their separate ways to grab what they wanted

Tho kageyama and yamaguchi stuck to one another like glue

"I have a plan to tell hinata!" Kageyama said speedily

"Tell me it!" Tadashi demanded

"Okay, so we get food, which we are doing now!"

Yamaguchi couldn't help but think this step was slightly obvious but stayed silent and let kageyama continue

"Then we walk, then I ask hinata if he wants to come to mine for dinner....he says yes I hope. Then we walk to my house and I tell him and then we eat dinner, I guess!"

Yamaguchi, though some parts of the plan were a bit questionable but overall, it was okay

"I like that plan tobio,you did a good job.

Kageyama smiled,a genuine smile that naturally spread across his face

He grabbed a milk carton out of the fridge as well as a drink he knew Yamaguchi was fond of

Once they finished purchasing so-called items, they went outside to be greeted by hinata, who was halfway into a meat bun and tsukishima, who was staring down at his screen, most likely flipping
Through his home screen, just as an attempt to avoid anything awkward

"There's my favourite couple," Yamaguchi beamed, causing hinata to choke on the bite of meat bun he was trying to digest

"OH GOD, IVE KILLED HINATA!!"Yamaguchi shouted as he aggressively smacked hinatas back, repetitively

Hinata winced in pain as he re swallowed the chunk of food
"IM FINE SORRY YAMAGUCHI"

hinata was still regularly coughing at this point as yamaguchi continued to apologise profusely, and kageyama was trying to hold back his laugh

"Here."

Hinata was holding back yet another cough when he looked up to see tsukishima holding out a water bottle, tho still avoiding eye contact as his eyes were not focused on him

Hinata gladly took the water bottle, drinking a good half of it in a single gulp before handing it back

"Thank you, tsukishima."hinata somewhat whispered

"Okay, that was kinda funny, but can we go now? I have to be home in half an hour, " kageyama said, still holding back giggles, but according to hinata, they were more or less 'cackles' like a witch

"It wasn't funny. I almost died, " hinata exaggerated as he ran after kageyama as he was quiet a bit ahead

"That would have been ever so sad if you did. Who would sell out ukai's meatbuns every day?"

"Shut up. I would dead or not. I don't care, " hinata proudly announced

Tsukishima couldn't help but admire how hinatas existence seemed to give the atmosphere a more orange feeling. On days he was around, hinata, the sunset, always just seemed to be more noticeable. The atmosphere seemed to be warmer, and he himself seemed to be more optimistic

He liked being around hinata, making sure he was okay,helping him with his work,watching him jump around playing volleyball, running into him in the hallways, awkward tension, and all he was just happier
