When Can brought Sanem home that night, they stood at her front door, neither wanting the night to end as they gazed at each other, locked in an embrace.

Can would have loved nothing more than to stay with her for the night but there was an unspoken understanding that Sanem was not ready for that next level of intimacy. He knew that she loved him and when he held her in his arms, their breaths mingling, he was sure she felt the same passion simmering between them.

But this next step would be not be easy for her, he thought, so he would never push her before she was ready. He would wait for her as long as she needed.

Looking into her eyes, though, he knew he wanted their lives to start now! He didn't want to wait to make her his wife, to take her on adventures, to have a family with her.

What are you thinking about, my love? Sanem asked, looking at his face with her head tilted to one side.

Looking away for a moment then looking back, he answered, Thinking about our new life together.

Suddenly pushing aside his previous thought, he blurted out, Sanem, let's get married today, tomorrow..right now, if you say yes. I don't want to live another day, another moment without you in my arms.

Come away with me, cara mia. I want to take you to the Galapagos Islands and beyond. I want to be the one to show you the world. You can write your next book, your next ten books and I'll take pictures of everything we see! We can work together on projects for the charity. I want it all with you!

Looking into his eyes to see if he was serious, she answered, Oh, Can that sounds like a dream but how? How do I leave the publishing house? What you're talking about is a long extended trip. It was hard enough to leave for a month. You're talking about a trip that would take us away for a year or more!

Sanem, what is holding you back? Tell me. Because I can see it in your eyes that you want this. You want to say yes, he replied.

Whispering, she said. I do want to say yes.

I want this dream so badly. But I'm afraid of letting Nicolas down. I've already confessed how I dream of leaving it all behind but then I'm wracked with guilt. I don't know how to do this, she said, starting to cry.

Ok, Ok, don't cry Sanem. Please don't cry. You know what your tears do to me. Let's talk some more about it tomorrow. I'm sorry I upset you, cara mia, forgive me, Can said softly. His heart broke every time he saw her tears. He promised to never make her cry again but he had to find a way to convince her to follow her dreams.

Kissing away her tears, he followed her inside the house, got her a cup of tea and wouldn't leave until she had convinced him that she was fine. She promised to think about it.

Closing the door behind her after he left, she looked up and said, Nicolas, what should I do?

Rubbing his hands over his eyes as he sat in the car, still in her driveway, Can sighed heavily. He knew his beautiful fiancé wanted to leave the business behind and follow her dream. He was so incredibly proud of what she had already accomplished.

His main goal in life was to see her pursue her dreams. He would have to find a way to convince her but it would take some time. Turning the key in the ignition, he looked back at her house one more time and drove home.

Dialing his Dad's number, he pushed aside the heaviness he felt to share with him and his sister the good news.

Son, I'm so happy for you both, Aziz said smiling over the phone. Nothing could make me happier than to see you two together.
