As he carried me up to the threshold, my heart pounded against his chest as if it were going to explode.

The rapid rhythm was undoubtedly audible to him as he held me securely in his arms. A faint smile tugged at the corners of his lips as he effortlessly carried me all the way up to our room, his gaze soft and reassuring.

Lost in his presence, I couldn't tear my eyes away from his face, captivated by the mix of tenderness and strength reflected in his eyes.

The sounds of distant murmurs faded into the background as I was enveloped into him completely.

Gently placing me on the bed with utmost care, he ensured that I was comfortable before the nurses and machines surrounded me.

Despite being discharged from the hospital out of concern for my safety, I was still tethered to medications and medical equipment as he recreated a hospital setting at home. A wry chuckle escaped me at the irony of the situation.

As the needles began their familiar routine, a wave of uneasiness washed over me, only to be soothed by the reassuring touch of his palm on mine.

The pressure was just enough to convey his silent presence and support, bringing a sense of solace amidst the beeping machines and clinical surroundings.

In that fleeting moment, his touch acted as a balm, providing me with a much-needed anchor in the valley of uncertainty and discomfort.

With my eyes closed tightly against the pain, I could vividly envision what his expression must have been at that moment.

Struggling to take slow, deep breaths to manage the discomfort, a familiar voice broke through the air, calling my name softly, "Divuu."

Startled, I reluctantly opened my eyes, half-expecting to be hallucinating because of the potent medications.

To my astonishment, there stood my mom, her eyes glistening with unshed tears as she hurried towards me, enveloping me in a delicate embrace, making sure to not hurt me.

Feeling the warmth of her touch and the tenderness of her hug, tears welled up in my eyes, cascading down my cheeks without permission as I returned her embrace, seeking solace in her familiar presence. "How are you?" her voice cracked with emotion, her concern evident in every word.
