Okay. Basically, this is like half-prologue and half-introduction of the story for you to get to know the past well enough to understand the story that I'm about to write :)

Any grammatical errors would be edited once the book is completed. So I hope you can bear with it for now :) Sorry and Thank You :)

THIS CHAPTER IS UNEDITED.

Prologue

Annabeth! Promise me that you will wait for me. “ Colton held my hand. I couldn’t focus on anything. I was crying so hard that I could hardly see his face. He held my cheeks with his palms and cooed me.

“ Shh. My love, I’ll come back for you. I promise you. I’ll come back and you’ll be my beautiful bride when we grow up. “

That was his last sentence to me.

That was his promise to me.

We were so young when we made that promise. He was 13 that time and I was only 8. But both of us knew what love truly was. Why? Because we have been there for each other every time we face difficulties. Our parents were best friends and the day I was born, Colton told his mother that he wants me as his bride when he grows up. That was how we got closer. We were inseparable. We bath together, sleep together almost everyday and our parents could not even separate us.

Colton’s mother and my mother died when I was 6. I remembered how devastating it was. Everyone was in shock because they could not believe it. Our mother passed away when they were on their way to a shopping mall and a terrible accident happened which caused the lives of many other people, including our mothers. I still remembered that night Colton and I slept beside each other and comforted each other throughout the night because we could hardly sleep, crying for the lost of our mothers.

When he reached 13, his dad was transferred to Russia for his new job. And he left, leaving only his mum’s earrings to me.

“ Promise me you’ll wear this everyday until I come back. My mum left them for me, hoping that one day I’ll give it to the woman I love. And I love you, Anna. “ He put one side of the earrings on for me and put another side on his left ear. To you, earrings might not mean a thing. But to me, they were everything. I never took off that earring that he gave, not even a day. That earring was of diamond shape and in crystal blue colour. It was really special.

We often write letters to each other, telling each other everything. But one day, he stopped. Even though he stopped, I never did. I still write letters to him everyday and post them everyday, in hope that he would see all of them.

As years dragged on, I stopped posting those letters too. I wrote them but never posted them because I knew no matter what I do, he would not read it. I was 16 when I stopped. But I still love him dearly. My Colton. He was the man who was by my side all the time.

I’m still holding onto his promise even till I reached 17.

I never stopped loving him.

A/N : I hope you like it and hope you understand the introduction of the story as well. :) I'll try to make this story as slow as possible, unlike Mr. Ruthless Mafia where everyone of you thinks it's developing too fast :) Hope you like it! <3

Much love always,

Anne
