33. Happy not your birthday

it's been a month since that incident happened, butler han and the others are now fully recovered and started to work around the mansion again, the king and iris doesn't get along that well, even if iris do something stupid and very dangerous the king just turned A blind eye to it and let iris do whatever she wants

The famous crown prince, young duke jameson, and young master ishikawa, have also made a few frequent visits here and they never saw iris that open to someone that is out of their family..

Today is a special day but not for iris, it's not a secret that iris never celebrates her birthday and just let it pass like it's another normal day, other than the maids and butlers around the mansion, no one knows why iris never celebrates her birthday

Of course being a good friend they are, Cain, victor and vincent, they plan to celebrate iris's birthday not knowing that for iris her birthday is the worst day ever, it was the day where all her misery started...

Butler han have overheard the young lads conversation so before they do something stupid he walked in without permission that surprised the three young master

"I suggest you just forget your plan for lady iris's birthday" the three seemed to have been offended by what the old butler just said so before they could shout at him to get out, butler han explained why he said that

"Young master kaito, have passed away on the very day it was his and lady iris's birthday when they were 12 years old, lady iris was so excited that she made a gift for kaito-sama, despite his condition Mistress ayame have put on a small party for them but, Kaito-sama passed away unexpectedly even before iris-sama can give him his gift.

Even since then, iris-sama never celebrated her birthday since for her, her birthday is the day where all her misery and pain had began, it only bring back bad memories to iris-sama, so please don't do this, we have seen iris-sama cry day and night when she lost her little brother and mother, we well not let her go through that again, we can't stand seeing her so sorrowful, she have suffered enough" the three looked at each other after what the old butler said

In the end, the prince and the other two decided to heed butler han's words and cancelled the supposed suprise party for iris

A week have passed, iris just came back from visiting many orphanage to see how the childrens are doing, Upon on her return

"Welcome back, lady iris" the maids and butlers greeted her, out of nowhere, her three best male friends appeared

"What are you three doing here?" They shrugged their shoulders and smiled at her

"We've come to celebrate" iris was shocked and upset when she heard the word celebrate knowing that her birthday have already passed

"You have been working very hard so we thought we should celebrate your hard working spirit and just take a rest after this" do you think I'm a fool to not understand what your doing? Iris thought, clearly upset after realizing what her friends are doing but seeing their smiles and thinking that this is not a celebration for her birthday since it was last week ago

"Thank you, I appreciate it" a small gentle smile appeared on her beautiful face, the maids and butlers sighed in relief seeing that iris didn't get angry,

"Come on, it's just you and us" vincent pulled her by the hand and dragged her to the banquet hall of the Everhart family residence

"You guys, you don't have to do all this" she said, feeling guilty that she made Victor, Vincent and cain work for this party

"Nonsense, you deserve it" making her seat down on the chair as butler han and the maids set up the meal, the chefs and kitchen maids and servant all made her favorite that made her smile wider than the last time, feeling lucky that she still have this family

The dinner was accompanied By a joyous conversation, iris invited all of the butler, maids, servant even the chef to eat with them since there is more than enough food for all of them, at first they declined but seeing their lady iris so happy for the first time ever since madame and young master Everhart have passed away, how could they refuse, iris had ever chair and table brought in the banquet hall so everyone can sit down,

It was a small but festive night, for the first time in their lives did they have such a party like this that doesn't need a title, no duchess, no young master, no your highness, no maids, no butler, no servant, no any title, just calling each other by names and address of respect for each other, iris sat on her chair as she gaze upon the table that she sat on everyday to eat her breakfast, lunch, and dinner in silence, but now the silence was destroyed by happy laughs and chatter of her friends and family, the once empty chairs on her side has now disappeared and replaced by the chair where her friends and family sat on happily eating, the dark and isolated place of the banquet hall is now filled with light and voices from them, she sat their as she gaze on all of that with a gentle smile on her face.

Iris know that this party of theirs is just an excused to celebrate her birthday since there are cake, present and many more, but even though she said that she hated her birthday, this turned out to be the best not your birthday party that she had ever experienced and also the first one that she had ever experienced
