PART III - HELEN
What had I done?
What did I elicit when I kissed Sofia?
Was a staged kiss terrible enough for Jamie to leave the room?
I was, once again, sure that I was in the right.
Jamie hat no right to walk out on me.
I had still been feeling high from the performance, but an uneasy feeling was taking over every inch of my body.
We had a quiet fight on the doorstep.
I said, "What's wrong, are you okay?" because maybe, he was just not feeling well.
He said, "Why did you kiss her in front of everybody else?"
I said, "Because we were acting out Romeo and Juliet."
He said, "I don't think you actually love me."
I said, "What makes you say that?"
He said nothing, just shrugged his shoulders.
I said nothing, just stared at him, thinking about what had gone wrong over the past few weeks, maybe months. All the exasperation that I built up.
I said, "I think, we should break up."
He said, "So I was right."
I said, "No, I do love you, I just can't be with you. You don't make me feel good."
