Instead of dust collected everywhere as far as everyone could see, or spider webs, dirtied shelves, and broken tables, and lampshades, the library inside was pristine and organized. The faint chirp of birds and the wind outside was giving its warmth. However, being alone inside the quiet room with a girl where you wouldn't want to anger is now in a foul mood, which made the peaceful atmosphere gone.

"If you don't understand, Ask."

"Shut up. I can do this! I don't need your help!"

Maki roared and slammed her hands on the desk, unable to comprehend the book she needs to study for another mission both of you have. Since you are an expert in the area of both studying different languages and hieroglyphics, you tried offering your help. However, knowing her attitude, you knew she wouldn't back down. Therefore, provoking her a bit wouldn't be a bad idea, even if your life is on the line.

"Really? Then, will you only stare at the book? The mission doesn't wait.~ Miss Maki."

Her eyes pierced through your body as you felt the scary atmosphere around her grew. Particularly the moment she turned her body when both of you had a mini staring contest. Naturally, you wouldn't back down now that you've done it, so you lift your eyebrows and only smirked at her.

Surprisingly, even with her pride reigning inside, Maki immediately shifted her eyes and silently asked you to teach her, which made you chuckle from how one's personality shift in a flash.

"Then, help me here faster."

"Would you look at that, isn't asking easier?"

You bent down, equalling the height of the seating girl in front of you, while you moved your arms to the table, placing her head beside yours in your chest. You trailed the words in the book, translating it to her in the simplest way that she may understand, oblivious of what she was feeling.

Maki was surprised as a blush crept in her cheeks, shifting her eyes away to yours and tried focusing on the book you wonderfully explained. However, when you said those, she blew up.

"You're very loveable."

She shifted her eyes for a while, making a second awkward motion when she grabbed the book and slapped it to your face and body thousands of times, thinking that it may be the last moment of your life.

"What. The. Hell. Are. You. Saying?! Ah-Oh no, I'm sorry-No! I'm not sorry! That's for telling me that I'm l-love- whatever. Just stop it!"

She became flustered and immediately run and leave at once. You were down for a moment, repenting that you should've covered your mouth tightly, but when you saw her things as well as her notebook. You called her at once.

"Hey, you forgot your notebook-"

You paused when the breeze of the wind forced the windows to open, making the bookmark inside fell off, while you sighed when she didn't come back after running that fast away from you. You picked it up and decided to give it to her later when you noticed small writing in it.

'(Y/N)... heart?'

You asked yourself after seeing a heart shape drawing with your name inside, which made you wonder and tried to forget about it when you don't want to misunderstand. However, when you put it on the last page of the notebook, you saw quite the medium-sized lettering of '(Y/N) x Maki' with hearts and butterflies around it.

It was childish, but that makes Maki cuter than ever as your heart promptly raced faster, especially when you read the part where you clearly understood what she felt toward you.

"I love you (̶Y̶/̶N̶)̶ Baka."

Unfortunately, it's too late for Maki to come back running breathlessly, shouting messily, and blushing endlessly. Particularly when she saw you reading the most hidden secret that she has in her entire life.

Maki stomped her feet and snatched the notebook in your hands, and tried to run once more when you grabbed her hand firmly. You immediately wrote something on the same page and showed it to her the words.

"I love you more."

It made both of you blush, redder than before from embarrassment and the butterfly feelings you had. You loosen your grip from Maki's soft hands, waiting for her response when she suddenly held your hands tightly without looking and nod quietly. You caught her signal and smiled widely; as she mirrored your action.

You dared to place a kiss on her hand, which made you kill yourself again when you tried to make her heart explode, but leaving that aside, you treasured that wonderful moment and left the library with a new declaration to everyone.
