I walk back into the shop feeling extremely stressed. I didn't mean to ignore Eliana.. I just haven't seen Magnolia in forever and it's nice to catch up with her.
"Well your girlfriend seems pleasant." She laughs sarcastically. "Bit of a jealous one isn't she?"
"Not normally." I answer.
"Maybe you shouldn't be touching someone else's boyfriend." April comments.
"How was I supposed to know?" Magnolia asks.
"I don't know maybe the fact that they walked in together, she was wearing his jacket, they were holding hands?" Gianna lists.
April and Gianna really have Elianas back. Even if it's against me.
"If she's that insecure then maybe she should stay single." Magnolia comments, and grabs her bag as she stands up. "I think I'm gonna go, I'll see you guys later."
As soon as Magnolia leaves, my friends all look to me with the same look.
"You dumbass!" April exclaims. "What the fuck is wrong with you?!"
"What did I do?!"
April and Gianna both roll their eyes at me with annoyance. Jesus Christ I didn't realize it was that deep.
"First of all, you should have introduced Eliana as your girlfriend as soon as Magnolia hugged you." Gianna says. "And you should have sat by her too. Then maybe tried to not ignore her."
"Oh and don't make her feel crazy for saying something about Magnolias hand on your arm because she was totally flirting and Eliana had every right to say something." April adds.
Well I don't want Magnolia, I want Eliana. She knows I only love her so what's the big deal?!
"She's just jealous, she'll get over it." I shrug.
"Mate.. I really think you should talk to her and try to fix this." Haz suggests.
"If she wants to over react that's on her. She will calm down eventually." I say.

Tom isn't acting like himself. At all.
Since we've got back from the boardwalk, he's been in his workout room with the music blasting. He works out all the time, but for three hours? That's a little much, even for him.
In fact, he's been acting like this for a few days now.. and it's getting a bit worse.
"Mate if I keep going at this rate I'll be able to lift all of London by the end of the month." He says as he walks out, practically drenched in sweat.
He grabs his phone, and holds it to his ear.
"Who are you calling?" I ask.
"Eliana." He states.
He hangs up the phone and throws it to the chair.
"She sent me to voicemail.. I should go over there. I'm gonna shower." He says and heads off down the hallway.
How is he going from saying that she needs to get over it and stop being jealous to acting like nothing happened?
I don't think letting Tom go to Elianas right now is a good idea. If what I'm suspecting is going on is true, he's unstable and anything that irritates him or makes him mad will make him have an outburst.
I think he's having a manic episode.
He's had a manic episode about four times in the past two years. He gets super energetic and careless for a week or two, he acts out, doesn't sleep, and just isn't himself. That would explain the behavior earlier with having little sympathy for Elianas feelings. It would also explain why he hasn't slept much the past couple days. There's no way to help him.. but I can at least try to keep him away from Eliana. It's what he would want me to do. I know that if he were to have an outburst on her, he would never ever forgive himself.
I grab his car keys, and stuff them under the couch cushion so he can't find them just in case he won't listen to me and stay home.
I know I should probably tell Eliana what's going on with him but then she will worry and come over, so I can't tell her. It'd be better if she stays upset and stays away until this passes.
After a bit Tom starts looking around confused, and I know he's looking for his keys.
"Have you seen my keys mate? Tryna go see my girl." He says.
"Nope." I shrug. "It's kind of late though, she might be asleep."
"I need to know if she's still mad at me." He mutters.
"Let me text her and see, you should probably give her some space tonight. Let her cool off." I suggest.
"Ugh." He groans. "Why does she have to be so clingy and territorial?"
Yeah.. it's a good thing I'm not letting him go to Elianas.
He spends the rest of the night talking non stop, this is definitely a manic episode. It's one in the morning and I'm practically falling asleep. I need to keep him away from everyone as best as I possibly can.
__
I wake up, seeing Tom passed out on the sofa with beer bottles surrounding him. He's going to be a mess for a while.
My phone starts ringing, and I grab it off the table. It's Eliana..
"Hey Eliana." I answer.
"Why isn't Tom answering his phone? I need to talk to him about yesterday. I think something is wrong he wasn't acting like himself." She says.
Well.. looks like she's already caught on. I should just tell her, so that she'll know that if he says anything off, it's not really him.
"I'm gonna come over, okay?" I say and hang up.
I quickly throw myself together, and head out the door to drive to Elianas. I pull up to her house and before I can even get out of the car, she opens the door with a worrisome look on her face. I jump out of the car and jog over to her.
"What's going on?" I ask.
She has tears in her eyes, and her cheeks are flushed.
"He's cheating on me isn't he?" She asks.
"What? No no no." I shake my head quickly. "Eliana it's not that."
She looks almost shocked, and wipes the tears from her eyes.
"I just figured... He's been acting weird for days now. He seemed uninterested. Then that girl comes along and he completely forgets I'm around..."
"He's not cheating. I think he's having a manic episode. He just gets these once in a while, for about a week he will act out, and not be himself. Then it's normally followed by a depressive episode." I explain to her. "Anything he says or does right now, you can't take too seriously. He doesn't have control, he's basically on emotion overdrive."
She frowns, I know she feels bad. She shouldn't though it's not like she knew. It took me years to learn how to live with Tom the way he is. She's just going to have to go through the learning process too.
"I want to help him..." she sighs.
"The best thing you can do right now, is avoid him as much as possible until this passes. He may get upset or irritated that you're not around, but once this passes he will be happy that you stayed away."
Her phone starts ringing, and she looks at it. I look down to see Toms contact, and she gives me sad eyes.
"I hate this.." she mumbles, and clicks the ignore call button.
"I know. Just a few more days... I'll keep him as busy as I can." I say.
"Please take care of my boy, Haz."
"I will." I assure her, and leave her house.
