Chapter Twenty-Nine

Jackson L.A Household

Third POV

Emily picked up the phone and held it close to her ear, her hand gripping very tightly around the phone.

She had her free hand wonder to her pocket for a second before bringing it back out, confusing Percy.

"Hello?" Emily asked, "This is Clay right?"

"Who are you?" Clay asked from the other side of the phone "Are you Percy's play toy? Put me onto my sister!"

"Um one, I am a minor and two, Ava doesn't want to talk to a lying hag like you" Emily stated, making Ava widen her eyes and Percy smirk slightly.

"She's alright, she's yelled at Order already, trust me, she's got this" Percy stated as a shocked gasp came from the other side of the phone.

"For a minor, you have a dirty mouth" Clay stated sourly "And I know my sister, she wouldn't-"

"You never knew your sister as you were never in her life" Emily stated, smiling slightly as she put her free hand on her waist "Are you trying to make up for it by being possessive of her, she's not five genius"

"She happens to be the only family I-"

"From what I've been told you have a primordial mother who loves you dearly, and a father that you never told Ava about but had been living with him until reaching out to her" Emily said, making Ava gasp.

"How-"

"I have no idea, I never even knew that" Percy whispered, cutting off Ava.

"Who told you that?" Clay asked.

"Not important" Emily stated as she lowered the phone, putting the phone on speaker.

"It is important as Ava never needs to know, her father is dead" Clay stated, making Ava widen her eyes at her brother's harsh tone.

Emily looked quickly at Percy who nodded.

She did that on purpose so Ava can hear the real Clay.

"You know what is important?" Emily asked angrily "What is important that you are not only making Percy unhappy but your own sister"

"I am not making my sister-"

"Unhappy?" Emily expressed, almost like she was shocked by his claim.

She laughed slightly, very annoyed now.

"You told her lies, manipulated her into believing her husband, the man who has a flaw of loyalty, that he betrayed her" Emily stated "Using a photo taken by paparazzi years ago when Percy was dating someone else"

"So what? He isn't good for her!" Clay stated.

"And you know?" Emily stated, her voice quivering slightly, making Percy widen his eyes "You have no right to determine what is good and not good for your sister! She needs to go through this world without influence from someone she should find care and support in!"

"I am doing this because I care for her!" Clay snapped "I'm not sure what lies that Jackson has feed you  but-"

"It's a funny way of caring for her" Emily said bitterly "You can't even let your own sister have her happiness"

"She wasn't happy with-"

"You NEVER knew her!" Emily snapped, which made Percy and Ava jump.
