The girl before me was petite, her slim curves hidden by her curly blonde hair, her brown eyes sparkling with secrets as she looks, her face perfectly composed, back at me.
The girl who was me.
I sigh, turning and picking up my knife before slipping out the door, not wanting to speak to my older guardian/sister, Ani. She would reprimand me for trying to sneak out, even though she didnt know what I did.
I make it outside, breathing in the fresh, salty air as the wind tousled my hair, blowing in from the sea.
I turn the knife over in my hands, twirling it so the blade sparkled, than slip it into the sheath that is on my arm. I stare out over the calm, dark blue water, trying to decide what to do.

I could go into the town.
I could go to Franlisce's house.
Or I could go to the woods.

The last option seemed to ring with truth as I considered it, telling me that I should go there.
I trusted myself.
So I turned, my back to the beach, and made my way to my new future.
