Chapter six

"it doesn't feel right" Bonnie said after trying to do the locator spell "maybe i need a bigger map" Bonnie suggested feeling hopeless

"Maybe you're just out of practice, and you suck at magic now" Damon said fixing him and Rain a drink

"ignore him, Bonnie" Kai said "pretend he's a white noise machine" and they all gave him a weird look "that's how i used to tune out my siblings, i grew up with a ton of little sisters and brothers. you know all of them constantly yammering but, it uh, taught me how to focus" Kai said standing awfully close to Bonnie and Damon noticed, so did Rain but she didn't say anything except kept her face turned to the window ignoring the feeling off green inside her

"easy there, big brother" Damon mocked "she doesn't know you. At least buy her a drink" Damon said finishing his and putting it on the table next to him and walked a bit before turning back "or, well, don't lead another girl on at the same time" he said looking at Rain who stood up and walked away and Damon followed

"you okay?" Damon said as they walked the streets of Mystic Falls and Rain looked to him and nodded "why did you leave?" Damon said quietly

"because you and Bonnie never include me in conversations, i always feel left out. like when i didn't know about the supernatural you guys would always up and leave and i always had to be okay with it" Rain said and guilt grew in Damon and he was about to say something but she cut him off "and then when i needed someone no one was here for me" Rain then let out an un-humorous chuckle "i bet you didn't even know that my brother died" she said stopping and looking at him and his face dropped

"he died?" he said stupidly

"yeah" she whispered "about a month ago and no one came up to me asking if i was okay, none of our friends. Other people did in school and at his funeral but none of my friends!" Rain said as tears fell from her eyes

"Rain I'm sorry, why didn't you tell us?" Damon asked and Rain just scoffed

"what should i say, 'oh, by the way, my brothers dead'. and plus even if i did tell yous, you would probably comfort me one time and then pass it off" Rain said having enough and walked away back to the Salvatore house but then she stopped and turned around "oh and i don't like being used as a prop to get under Kai's skin, asshole"

Damon just stood their guilty watching her walk away, and hearing her mutter how stupid she was to herself. i mean the first day he had actually got back to Mystic Falls was actually the day that he saw Elena for the first time and he was on a drinking binge

Damon's memories

Damon was sat in the Mystic Grill swallowing down bottles of bourbon or any kind of alcohol given his way "you know if you keep drinking the way you are your going to die" a voice said beside him

"yeah, well, good job I'm already dead, huh" Damon said about to take another sip of bourbon but it was taken away from him

"stop" the voice said and for the first time he looked at her. He stared at her for a good couple of seconds "here let me take you home" Rain said in a calming voice which made Damon go into a euphoric state he was confused to as why he was feeling like this with another woman, a woman who isn't Kathrine, actually she the opposite of her

"to this apartment" Damon slurred giving her a piece of paper which had an address on, and an arm went around Rain and they both stumbled a bit but she managed to get him to him to her car "why are you being so nice to me?" he said staring at her side profile, she turned to him and gave him a smile

"you looked like you were having a rough night and i didn't want a pretty face like yours getting killed" Rain chuckled and Damon gave her a grin

"this the place?" she said stopping the car and Damon nodded "can you make it in there?" she said and he laughed

"i think ill manage, but thankyou..." Damon drew on not knowing her name

"Rain Specter"

"right, Damon Salvatore"

Damon was pulled out off his flash back and vamp sped over to the Salvatore house
