24. Escaped

I was part of a construction crew and we stayed in a small building beside the construction. We were paid less and given very limited food. Soon the workers started leaving discreetly but my friend convinced me to stay, saying if we left our families would starve. One night I found him sneaking out of our construction site and I thought he was escaping alone, leaving me to rot here. But least did I expect that he had sneaked out to stuff a dead worker into a newly constructed wall.
