When I taught my two-year-old an English rhyme, he repeated it in gibberish but in the same tune. I didn't mind it much since he was just learning to talk, even though he did that only with one particular rhyme. One day, the Nigerian businessman who sold us this house visited us. Everything was normal until my son decided to sing the rhyme in front of him. He froze and asked us if we knew the Nigerian language. When we said no, he told us that my son sang the rhyme in Nigerian, the same one that his wife used to teach his daughter before they died.
