She'd left him on read. She craved him so unbelievably badly that there was absolutely no way that they'd just talk. Even late into the night, while laying in the bed of another hotel room, Melena couldn't seem to make up her mind. Text back, or not to text back? She couldn't help but imagine him right now; laying on his back in one of these expensive Canadian hotels, phone in hand, waiting for her reply, which might never come.
She thought back to when they'd first met. She thought back to how they'd first started dating, their first official date— and, well, that first and last horrible fight.
And the sex. God, the sex with him had been unbelievable.
Melena rolled over to lay on her side, unlocked her phone and stared down at the two messages he'd sent her. He hadn't texted her in months, not after what had happened. For some reason, she could not stop staring at the words.
Then, she felt a sudden rush of confidence. She had to text him back. She wasn't planning to be romantically involved with him again, right? So, the least she could do was be honest with him and tell him how she felt. But deep down, maybe, she didn't know that she was lying to herself and her aching heart. Because suppressing her desire for Pierre maybe wasn't the way to go about it, but it was late and she was tired. How could she have known right now?
Melena could still feel the tension, the longing, the eagerness from that night at the club. And with that in mind, she texted him back.
