Mauryan Empire Won The Kalinga war
This is what was going on inside Mauryan empire's mind after he won the war and saw the destruction that was caused because of it.

Mauryan POV- "I smiled,Yes......I won..I knew it.....He should've gave me his land before.....if he did He wouldn't had to see so many of his soldiers die.....and my soldiers too....."
Mauryan looked around and almost got a panic attack.
Mauryan POV-

He felt a sudden emotion......that was Guilt,,,,
Mauryan empire- "I...What....I...caused THIS"
Some of his soldiers....... (Who were ALIVE) looked towards him with a confused look.
His legs started trembling,,,,
The sight of the blood filled battle field rattled him,,,,
The soldiers......were submerged with blood and they looked ghastly pale,,,,
Some of their body parts {Mostly hands and head} were cut....blood dripping out of it,,,,
Mauryan empire felt an Convulsive feeling to go look around the battle ground,,,,
Mauryan empire POV - "It felt as if my mind was commanding me to WalK"
Even though he didn't wanted to but still decided to go along with his mind and.......walk,,,,,
.......After just some minutes, He regretted his decision,,,,,
Soldiers.....laying Dead...Some injured but still alive or at the verge of dying .......Some just mourning over the dead bodies of their friends,,,,
Everything was so.....Gloomy,,,,
He decided to keep going,,,,,,
After almost 10 minutes of walking he saw the Daya river......but it had turned red because of all the blood that flowed out of the Soldier's body,,,,,
He regretted his decision.....a second time,,,
After he saw that he almost fainted,,,,
He turned around and started to back slowly,,,
While doing so he stumbled upon something,,,
Mauryan empire- " H-huh..."
Mauryan empire POV- " I look down to see what did I stumbled on......And I saw Kalinga empire.......He was covered in injuries and wounds..... The bright red liquid coming out of it.......visible cracks on his body I felt SICK..... "
Mauryan empire- " Wait...."
He saw Kalinga move a bit,,,,
Mauryan empire POV- " ......IS he still alive?......."
He Proceeds to check if he's still alive and that's when he discovered he was STILL BREATHING and his heart was still beating, Maybe he could save him........or maybe not,,,,,,
Suddenly Kalinga empire's body started.......getting larger cracks and the cuts becoming larger and.......he Stopped breathing......and his heart came to a stop,,,,,,,
Mauryan empire- " No.....NO NO."
He didn't felt happy about winning the war anymore.......The feeling of Joy had been replaced by Pure Guilt,,,,,
Mauryan empire- " ...........What did I gain?.......Land....I will be able to control trade with South-east......But.....at what cost?.....War..Every thing gets destroyed during war..................Thousands die because of it...."
He started to sob,,,,
The ones who were still alive looked at him.......Was he the same Mauryan empire they knew? Why was he crying instead of celebrating ? He wasn't the kind of Empire who would say....that,,,,,,
Some understood what he meant,,,,,
......Everything was Sepulchral for some time,,,,,,
Then Mauryan empire stood up and with an serious yet visibly guilt filled face spoke....,,,,,
Mauryan empire- " From today onwards........"
Everyones eyes was on him,,,,,
Mauryan empire- " I'm giving up war.....a-and will never follow the path of violence.....but...peace...and brotherhood...."
All of them were shocked.....but a bit happy because They might not have to risk their life again,,,,
Mauryan empire bends down towards Kalinga's ear and whispered,,,,,
"I am...sorry"
