(Sorry for the short chapter, just wanted to get this out before y'all think I'm dead)

Manjirou walked downstairs with Takemichi in arms.

“ Scaredy-Mitchy! You're actually here.” Surprisingly, Nahoya was the first to notice them.

“Hi, Nahoya-Kun,” Takemichi answered weakly, still not able to look any of them in the face.

“Takemichi! Hey!” Manjirou laid Takemichi down on the couch.

“What were you talking about?” Manjirou asked calmly, making Takemichi shiver. How can he act as if he didn't do what he just did upstairs?

“Oh just random shit, we were teasing Chifuyu and Baji, but then Draken's serious ass decided to bring up South and his gang.” Nahoya “glanced” at Draken
(His eyes are always closed/squinted so does it really count as glancing/looking??)

Takemichi gasped slightly. South? Like South Terano? That giant 6'11 guy that's over a foot taller than both him and Manjirou? He knows Manjirou is strong but is it really a good idea to be involved with such a guy?

Manjirou ever attentive to his Mitchy, senses his discomfort and “reassures” him that everything is okay.

That infarct did not reassure Takemichi as it just confirmed that Toman was involved with them.

“Jirou... you're not getting into trouble with someone like him, Right? Right?”

“Shhh... It's okay, Mitchy. I can handle him.”

At your height?

But then again, I am smaller than Manjirou so I shouldn't really talk.

“Yeah!” A drunken Keisuke butted in, “We could take a thousand of those assholes!”

“You can't even take a spelling test, Keisuke.” Matsuno deadpanned.

“Hey!”

Takemichi watched the gang bicker among themselves. Wondering how they could be so... happy after what they had done, especially Manjirou.

This South guy, if he's really troubled by Toman then maybe that'll give him a chance to leave. Manjirou won't be home and depending on when the fight happens, he might be able to walk by then.

It's possible, but what if Manjirou leaves someone with him? He doubts he'd just be left completely alone.

“But Manjirou why are you doing this? You could get hurt!” I could get hurt.

“It's a battle for power.” Draken explains “Whoever wins gets to reign over Tokyo.”

Reign over Tokyo? We're all like 15-17 years old! We haven't even finished high school yet! That makes no sense!

“Don't worry Mitchy I'll protect you~” Manjirou drapes his arms around Takemichi's shoulders from behind, leaning over him and whispering in his ear.

“Not even he can take you away from me, never.”

Manjirou gives Takemichi a knowing smile and heads into the kitchen.

I swear he's reading my mind or something.

Draken also give Takemichi a knowing look and says aloud,

“Don't even think about it.”

“HUH!? I haven't even done anything!?”

“But you're thinking of something stupid, I don't get why you want to leave.. Manjirou loves you and he keeps you safe. What's the issue?” Chifuyu asks.

“Yeah, it's not like you have family... Not anymore at least.” Nahoya nudges him.

Are they seriously trying to guilt me right now?? It's kinda working..

Why should I leave Manjirou? Onii-Chan is dead, same with Mom and Dad. My friends have probably forgotten about me already. So what else do I have?

Maybe.. I should stay here.
