Chapter:2 A sea of uncertainty and fear.

The sky was painted in shades of gray as raindrops danced gracefully from the heavens, their gentle patter creating a soothing symphony that filled the air. The scent of rain mingled with the earthy aroma of freshly dampened soil, creating an enchanting fragrance that lingered in the air.

The world seemed to come alive with the gentle touch of the rain, as droplets caressed the leaves of trees, glistening like precious jewels in the soft light. Puddles formed on the pavement, reflecting the shimmering lights of the city like mirrors of liquid silver.

In the distance, the sound of thunder rumbled softly, adding to the mystical ambiance of the scene. The air was cool and refreshing, invigorating the senses and stirring the soul with its natural beauty.

Despite the dreary weather, there was a sense of tranquility and serenity that enveloped the world, as if nature itself had paused to revel in the beauty of the moment. And as the rain continued to fall, washing away the worries of the day, the world seemed to take on a magical quality, where anything was possible and dreams were free to soar.

As I walked along the rain-drenched streets, the rhythmic patter of the raindrops on my umbrella seemed to echo the rhythm of my heart. It was a familiar feeling, the weight of his presence lingering in the air, his voice calling out to me, even as I continued to ignore him.

"Hey, soulmate," his voice rang out in my mind, teasing and playful. "Not again. You're ignoring me once more. Oh, by the way, I wrote a song. Let me sing it for you."

His words washed over me like a gentle breeze, stirring something deep within my soul. I couldn't help but be captivated by the melody of his voice, the sincerity in his words. Despite my best efforts to resist, his voice had a way of breaking through the walls I had built around my heart.

As he sang the lyrics of the song he had written, I felt a pang of longing tug at my heartstrings. His voice was like a balm to my weary soul, soothing the ache of loneliness that had settled deep within me. With each word, each note, I felt myself drawn closer to him, unable to resist the pull of his magnetic presence.

"His voice soothed my heart. The magnetic voice of his makes my heart skip a beat," I mused, closing my eyes and allowing myself to be swept away by the haunting melody. It was as if his voice had the power to penetrate the walls I had built around my heart, melting them away with each note.

(Verse 1) Oh soulmate, hear my plea, Don't turn away, don't set me free, In your eyes, I find my shore, Don't leave me stranded, don't close the door.

(Chorus) Oh soulmate, don't ignore me, I'm lost without you, can't you see? My heart beats for you, endlessly, Oh soulmate, don't ignore me.

(Verse 2) Through the storms and darkest nights, You were my beacon, my guiding light, But now I'm drifting, lost at sea, Oh soulmate, won't you rescue me?

As he sang the lyrics of the song he had written, I felt a pang of longing tug at my heartstrings. His voice was like a balm to my weary soul, soothing the ache of loneliness that had settled deep within me. With each word, each note, I felt myself drawn closer to him, unable to resist the pull of his magnetic presence.

But as much as I longed to give in to the warmth of his voice, I couldn't shake the memories of my brother's pain, the betrayal he had suffered at the hands of his own soulmate. I couldn't bear the thought of opening myself up to that kind of hurt, of risking my heart for the chance at love.

"Since I turned 20 years old, at whenever it rained I heard his voice," I thought, my mind drifting back to the countless rainy days spent lost in his words. He had become a constant presence in my life, a source of comfort and confusion in equal measure.

"I know you are not going to say anything and the rain is also going to stop. I hope to meet you very soon. My soulmate," his voice broke through my reverie, tinged with a hint of sadness that sent a shiver down my spine. And just like that, the rain stopped, leaving me standing alone on the deserted street, the echoes of his words lingering in the air.

With a heavy heart, I resumed my journey, the sound of traffic and the hustle and bustle of the city serving as a stark reminder of the reality I faced. But as I entered my office to meet my best friend, Lavanya, I couldn't shake the feeling that my encounter with my soulmate was far from over.

As I stepped into Lavanya's cabin, I was greeted by the familiar sight of her engrossed in her work, the soft glow of her laptop casting a warm light across her face. I made my way over to the sofa and flopped down with a heavy sigh, feeling the weight of my own thoughts pressing down on me.

Every time I heard my soulmate's voice, it left me with a longing that lingered for far too long. It was a feeling I couldn't shake, a yearning that seemed to grow stronger with each passing day. I felt helpless, lost in a sea of uncertainty and fear.

Lavanya's voice broke through my reverie, her tone tinged with frustration and concern. "Looks like it was another day of ignoring your soulmate," she remarked, her words hanging heavy in the air.

I brushed off her comment, unwilling to confront the truth of her words. But she persisted, moving to sit beside me and gently taking my hand in hers. "You can't keep ignoring him, Shehnaaz," she urged, her voice soft but firm. "What if he's not like your brother's soulmate? What if he's different?"

Her words struck a chord deep within me, stirring something inside that I had long tried to ignore. I couldn't help but wonder if I was letting my past experiences dictate my future, if I was allowing my fear of getting hurt to hold me back from finding true happiness.

But the thought of taking that leap of faith, of opening myself up to the possibility of love, filled me with a sense of overwhelming dread. "I don't know what to do," I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper.

Lavanya smiled gently, her eyes filled with understanding and compassion. "You have to take the first step, Shehnaaz," she said softly, squeezing my hand reassuringly. "No one can wait forever. It's been four years."

Her words resonated with me, stirring something deep within my soul. But still, the fear lingered, a dark shadow that clouded my thoughts and held me back from taking that first step towards my soulmate.

As I looked into Lavanya's eyes, I knew that she understood my reluctance, my hesitation. And in that moment, all I could do was sigh, the weight of my fears pressing down on me like a heavy burden that I couldn't shake.
