I'm Raven, a 20 year old half-elf hybrid with a little brother named Flix who is always on my tail, he follows me everywhere like a dog, it's annoying and I wish he would just leave me alone, he can't even leave me alone except at night time! Like come on! I was honestly just getting tired of him but I had to take care of him, with mom and dad... Gone, I need to teach him everything mom taught me, like social cues, "Come on Raven!" Flix called from downstairs,

"Yes, yes I'm coming!" I yell exasperated, I walked downstairs and put on my shoes before Flix grabbed my hand and dragged me out the door, "Eep!" I squeaked before using my weight to slow Flix down to a speed walk pace,

"Come on! You know the park is fun! Let me run!" He complained,

"Not until we get to the park okay?" I say dragging out that okay in my voice. Flix pouted but continued walking. When we arrived at the park I was a little confused why there weren't any other kids around, it's the afternoon on a weekend and it's a sunny spring day, that just screams letting kids go and play while you hang out at the tavern, but I let it go and let Flix run down to the playground and I watched him play. It was boring, but everyone will tell you the worst things always happen when you turn your back for just a moment. And when I heard a loud noise I turned my back, I then heard crying and ran to Flixs' side,

"I fell and scraped my knee on some really sharp thrones." He said in-between sobs, I picked him up and carried him back to our house. It wasn't much, a 3 bed 1 bath one story house. I sat Flix down on one of the pillows in our living room, since couches were out of our budget, and started cleaning up his knee, picking out the thorns, that stuff,

"This may hurt okay?" I told Flix, he flinched back when I told him that,

"But I don't want it to hurt more." He cried, I sighed annoyed, geez I can't wait for this kid to be independent, then he can finally leave me alone for 5 minutes, I didn't say that to his face, I know how damaging that is, but I did make a small lesson out of it,

"It will sting because this right here." I held up some wound cleaner, "Is hurting all the nasty germs and making sure they don't cause long nasty sickness okay?" I told him, man that sounded weird coming out of my mouth but Flix seemed to understand, sorta what I was conveying

"So that thing," He pointed to the wound cleaner, "gose bam bam!" He punched his fists in the air as he said bam bam! "And the germs might hurt me too but I won't get sick?" He asked,

"Exactly! Now hold still." I said, dabbing his wound with the wound cleaner, I then carefully bandaged up his wound and I helped him to his room, "Get some sleep, I'll call you when dinner is ready." I said tucking him in for bed,

"Can you read me a bed time story?" He asked,

"After dinner okay?" I said, "Remember that I taught you to read basic words? Why don't you test your skills?" I gave him some basic story books and gently put them in his bed, he seemed excited and instantly opened up a book. I left and started dinner and dusted the house, it needed it. "DINNER!" I called, I heard some shuffling in Flixs' room and he hobbled over and sat down on one of the pillows. I served breakfast, and Flix asked if I ever did anything, "Yeah of course I do, I read books without any pictures for fun." I said,

"Boring." I heard him mumble, I sighed,

"alright you spell Wednesday and I'll admit I'm boring." I said, I always do this to teach him to spell, I say I'll admit something bad about myself he said about me, if he spells it right.

"W-E-N-S-D-A-Y." He said completely confident,

"No it's spelled Wed-nes-day. I know it's weird but try to get that through your head." I said making a circle motion with my finger close to my head, Flix pouted,

"But you are boring, tell me a different word to spells I know I'll get it right!" He demanded,

"In the morning okay?" I told him, he crossed his arms and went to bed. I chuckled and tucked him in,

"You promised to read me a bed time story tonight!" He called I sighed and pulled out one of the more complex books, I picked the story of Maquine, goddess of death, and her partner Angel (yes I made a whole ass fake religion for a little book😜).

"There once was a little girl named Maquine, she was unnaturally obsessed with dead things and things that were considered gross. When she grew up she met a gruesome end by the hand of one of her bullies, but instead of her soul being pulled into Elyquio(realm of the dead), it was instead scooped up by Alfinie, the moon goddess, who told her she would manage the afterlife based on a prophecy that was shown to the gods centuries ago, then she was given a palace in the underworld where she would reside for the rest of eternity, she was also granted God status by Emeri(mother of all life) and she can now bring dead people back to life and make the dead do what she wants.

Also when she had to pick up a dead soul since it was a really bad person that had to be thrown in a... Bad place," I never liked saying Tarmeia(basically Tartarus in Greek mythology except bad people are also thrown down there) to little kids, it scares literally every little child who can understand words "she stumbled into Angel who decided to play as a goddess that day, Angle can change their gender and appearance whenever they want and also if they rule over love or lust, it really depends. Only the gods truly know what they originally were meant to be, and what they truly look like, and Angle was so enamored by Maquines appearance that she asked for permission to marry her, which was approved. The End." I said closing the book,

"Whoa! Tell me more religious stories please!" Flix said, really excited,

"How about tomorrow night I'll tell you the story of creation?" I asked, Flix nodded his head excitedly and fell asleep soon after, I left his room, another normal day, it was boring but at least I got to tell my favorite story in our religion, I yawned and changed into my sleeping robe, then I passed out soon after, another boring day, well except for that wound but yeah.

(HI! thanks for reading this! This is my first original story, I'm happy to receive any feedback. Just be nice about it!)
