Chapter 8 - The work life

I stopped mine and Austin's eye contact and looked at the door.

Abigail: Come in

Mom and Michele come walking in.

Michele: sorry you two to break up the party but, Austin we've got to go home now. 

Ausitn: oh come on mom, we're watching SpongeBob *me and Austin both giggle*

Pamela: remember Abigail, you've got to get up early for work tomorrow

Abigail: i'm not starting till half 11 mom

Pamela: yeah but your not a morning person though, you have to get some sleep before your first day

Austin: where are you working?

Abigail: Olive Garden, i'm starting tomorrow

Austin: wow, cool, that's my favourite restuarant.

Abigail: that's cool *smiles*

Michele: Come on then Austin, we better leave Abigail along so she can get her beauty sleep before her first day *smiles*

We all walked down stairs and said our goodbyes at the door and Michele and Austin left. Mom closed the day and we both headed to our rooms. I went into my room and watched the end of SpongeBob and fell asleep.

I woke up the next morning with a smile on my face. It was quarter to 10 and i had an hour and a half to get ready. I went in to the bathroom and had a shower,washed my hair and blow dried my hair. I went back into my bedroom and got changed. I hadn't got my uniform yet, so i just changed into something nice. I put on my black shirt and my cute white blouse. I put my black sandals on my foot and my Letter A chain my dad gave me for my 14th birthday, i put that on for luck. (http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=48521975).

It was only 20 past 10, i had 40 minutes till i started work, so i decided to walk to work, it was only half an hour walk away. I said goodbye to my mom and she wished me good luck, i got a big kiss from Snoopy and i gave him a biscuit for it and headed out the door. I was walking down the porch and i heard someone calling after me.

Voice: Abigail!

I looked around and there was Austin waving at me from the other side of the road. I was thinking to myself while i was crossing the road, ' does he like? he always wants to talk to me and anytime i come out side, he's always there'. I stopped asking myself question in my head as i was at Austin's driveway.

Austin: Hey, i just wanted to say good luck for today

Abigail: Thanks, i'm kind of nervous

Austin: Don't be, you'll be great 

Abigail: Thanks, i better be heading before i'm late.

Austin: I'll join you, i'm heading to the mall anyway to meet the guys

We both headed off to where we were going. On the way, he was telling me all about his Mahomies, his career and his friends from La Vernia, and i told him about my life back in New York. I didn't tell him everything though, just because i think i have feelings for him, don't mean i can trust him with my secrets yet.

When we arrived at a crossing, i had to turn left when Austin had to carry straight on.

Abigail: I have to go this way *pointing to the left*

Austin: awh, i have to go straight ahead

Abigail: I'll see you after work or something though, it was nice chatting with you. *i smiled at him*

Austin: okayy *smiles* it was nice getting to talk to you without you having to get away in a hurry *smiles*

Abigail: sorry about that, i didn't mean to be or act mean or anything like that yesterday

Austin: it's okayy, i'll see you later Abigail *he smiled at me*

Abigail: Bye Austin * i smiled back at him* 

I turned and headed done the road to work, having Austin in my mind.

*Austin's Point of view*

I was at the crossroads waiting for the red man to turn into a green man on the traffic lights. I looked to the left and saw Abigail walking away. I could tell she was still nervous, i found it cute. Yeah, i think it'm starting to have feelings for her. It's weird, i only meet her like 5 days ago or something. But anytime i try to talk to her, she just tries to get away in a hurry, but today and last night was different, We actually spoke to each other that lastest longer than 3 minutes. I'm not sure if she know who i really am, her mom would have probably told her by now.

*End of Austin's point of view* 

I walked into work a few minutes early but they didn't mind. Susanne, the manager, she gave me my uniform and showed me the basics. My shift finished at 7 tonight and it was half 5, only a little while longer to go. But i was really enjoying working here, everyone was really nice and polite and the customers were nice. I was signed for 3 table for tonight, table 5,6 and 7. Out of everyone who worked there, i was the youngest and Bradley was the oldest, he was the chef, he was really funny. I fitted in really well here, i'm glad i put myself up for this job. 

There was new people that were sitted at table 6, i went over and noticed Austin was in the group of people. I walked up to the table and smiled at Austin.

Abigail:  Hey guys, are you's ready to order?

They gave me their orders and i headed away to order their drinks at the bar and then walked to the kitchen and gave their food order to the chef. I went back to the bar and grabbed their drinks and walked back to table 6. I handed them their drinks and Austin started to speak to me.

Austin: Abigail, this is Alex *points to the person opposite him*, robert *points to the person beside Alex*, Dave *points to the person beside him* and this is Zach *points to the person beside Dave* Guys, this is Abigail, the one i told you's about, the girl who moved in across the street.

Boys: Hey Abigail *they all smile at me*

Abigail: Hi, nice meeting you all, but i better get back to work *smiles back*

I walked away and went back to work. I went back into the kitchen and waited for the orders that were for my tables. While i was waiting, i was thinking to myself, 'he told them about me? Maybe he feels the same as me?' i was interrupted by Bradley shouting.

Bradley: Table 5's order's up!

Back to work i go i guess, right now i just want to go home, working here is quite tiring.
