I'll admit that the story description is so long and meh. It made me reluctant to read the book when I first found it, and I ended up shoving it to the side until I was bored and finally decided to pick it up. I'm glad I finally did because it was definitely worth my time.
The main character Yun Qian Meng was a policewoman in her past life when she suddenly transmigrated into the body of a young girl in ancient times. It turns out that the original girl had just killed herself because her fiance ended their betrothal. Now Yun Qian Meng's soul has replaced the original girl's body and identity.
The original girl was weak and timid; people bullied her and made her life miserable. The new girl is strong, intelligent, and witty. Unlike some of the cheap and half-assed stories similar to this, the main girl is actually smart and it's not just that everyone else around her is stupid (as in many cases in other transmigration novels).
Because this is her new life now, she decides that she won't let those people bully her anymore. If you're looking for scheming, evil stepmothers and b*tchy stepsisters, you're spot on. And also expect some good-looking guys while you're at it. The romance will be a little slow though because of all the scheming and plot that goes on in the chapters.
