Description:

The night before their wedding, her fiancee ran off with his mistress. Out of frustration, she grabbed the man standing in front of the Civil Affairs Office, "President Mo, your bride has not arrived and my groom has run away...May I suggest we get married?"

Before marriage, she said, "Even if we were to share the same bed, nothing would happen between us!" After marriage, he said, "If we don't try, how would we know?"

I know many of you loved Hidden Marriage and might still be mourning that it's completed and you don't know what to do with your life anymore. I'm not gonna lie and say you'll probably find something just as good as that because I doubt anyone or anything could beat Little Treasure, that little bun.

Trial Marriage Husband is as close as one can get with maybe even a bit more realism and seriousness in terms of the characters, world, and even plot. Maybe you'll even like this one more. Maybe not. How will you know without trying?

It certainly has quality. The beginning was a bit unrealistic, though, with how quickly and easily the main couple married each other without a contract or thorough background check even though they just met each other, but life really is unbelievable like that at times. To be honest, in the first 50 chapters, I didn't even care about the romance because of how unrealistic it felt and began skipping those long parts completely. I stayed because besides that, once you got a few chapters further in, the plot really started to pick up and get exciting.

The MC is a model instead of an actress (like most MCs in the entertainment industry novels) and the story focuses heavily on her career and comeback, not just the revenge. She isn't perfect or OP, so at times, she had to suffer a bit before she would make her comeback and give out face slaps. I actually liked that because nowadays, whatever C-novel I pick up, beside a tragic backstory or past, the MC never really gets hurt and is almost untouchable in every chapter so that sitting-at-the-edge-of-your-seat-in-anxiousness factor is no longer there as much and I'm kind of beginning to miss it. Getting that worried and anxious feeling at that moment makes it all the more rewarding to read when the MC finally delivers those face slaps and resolves the situation satisfyingly.

Those situations and framings the MC gets caught in hit closer to home than those palace schemes and wuxia conflicts since they are actually the kind we're always seeing on the media nowadays. It makes one deeply wonder how much of the stuff we see on the tv and internet about our celebrities and idols is really true and who is really the true victim in a situation. The antagonists in this, at least, get the justice they deserve (as expected from a C-novel). What I do appreciate is that their punishments aren't extreme like being killed, but their living situations still get pretty terrible in a very satisfying way, which is much more fulfilling than if they were just killed off and tossed aside, never to be seen or heard from again.

I don't know when it happened, but eventually, I started to actually pay attention to the romance again and really began to like it. I think it's when the male lead started to indirectly help out the MC more (she wouldn't let him step in for her directly) and was there in the story for more than just kissing and fluffy scenes. Or maybe it was in those small gestures he displayed that showed his love when he thought she wasn't looking. He's definitely up there in ideal husband material and can definitely rival Lu Tingxiao (male lead of Hidden Marriage) if you can believe it.

It's a more mature novel compared to Hidden Marriage, so I'm gonna warn you that it has much more mature scenes too. Yes, that means bedroom scenes. So if you're not into that, might want to skip those. Nothing really big happens in them because they are just there for fan service, so you won't miss out anything important by passing those. Don't skip the whole chapter though because the chapters are pretty long and the mature scenes are just a small part of them.

The fact that this is currently number one most voted on Web Novel now that Hidden Marriage is completed probably means something. Unless you don't like this type of genre, it's probably a very good idea to pick this up and try it.
