Chapter 8

After we got done eating Mark took us to the Republic Records office, so that is where I am now. The reason we are here is because Mark works for them and looks for people that he thinks have a chance in the music business. So that's why I'm here he thinks I have a chance and he's going to help me.

He showed us around the office first and pretty much where everyone is and what they do. Right now we are in his office and he's showing us a few of the people that they have signed like Ariana Grande, Owl City, and Colbie Caillat. And if your wondering yes Austin's management is associated with Republic Records.(btw idk if thats true just go along with it for the book) I didn't ask about him but I was dying to.

After we had seen everything Mark took us to see the studio and it was so cool I couldn't believe I was in an actual studio, so me being the person I am took a picture and put it on instagram with the caption

'Never imagined I would be able to see this in person'

And then put my phone away before I started getting asked questions.

We stayed at the office for about 3 hours just talking then Mark said that we could go walk around Santa Monica or we could go walk around LA. We decided to stay there and just get to know there better.

*skipping to Friday*

So it's now Friday and were headed to the studio. So during the week we basically just talked to the main person of Republic Records and he got me to sing to him and he liked it. Then Mark took me to the studio to look around and while I was there I saw a couple famous people I wasn't able to talk to them or take pictures but I still said hi, and right now I'm going back to the studio and I'm going to record my first song. It's a cover but I'm doing a studio version of it, and I decided to do it on the first song I posted on YouTube which was 'Wish You Were Here' by Cody Simpson. So Mark and the guy recording explained to me what I was going to do and I went into the studio recording place and I put the headphones on, the music started playing and I started to sing. We went through the song about 4 times before we finally got it how we wanted it to sound. I really liked how it had come out although I thought I sounded weird but everyone said it was good. So when we got done Mark said

"So since I did say you would get a full experience on everything having to do with music and being a singer... we're going to do a music video on the song."

"Oh my gosh are you serious?" I asked

"Yes, we have everything setup and we have dancers, a lead guy, and the places we are going to be recording." He said

"That's so awesome when are we going to do it?" I asked

"We'll since today is the last day you have with your brother we are giving you the rest of the day of and then we will work on the video tomorrow, Sunday, Monday, and possibly Tuesday." He said

"Alright. So we can basically go do anything?" I asked

"Yes, go explore California or anywhere else!" He said

After we said bye to Mark we walked outside and went to the limo and told the driver who's name is Gary to take us back to the hotel.

When we got to the hotel we just went to get my phone which I forgot before going to the studio. So now we are just going to go walk around and see what we can find. So we decided to walk to the Walk of Fame since it wasn't to far from where we were. So I tweeted out

"@LeahRamirez:

Going to The Walk of Fame! Come by if you would like to meet me! :)"

A lot of fans started replying but I couldn't reply back since I was walking and had a tendency of tripping whenever I was on my phone while walking.

We finally got to the Walk of Fame and I tweeted out

"@LeahRamirez:

Starting from where the Michael Jackson Star is at! Come find me lol :)"

We started walking and little by little fans would come up and ask for a picture or autograph. After about an hour we were no longer able to move because we were surrounded by fans, what I thought would be a small meet up turned out into my dad, my brother, and I having to be taken out of the crowd by security and taken somewhere else for my safety. When we finally got to a building where we would be while they tried to clear up the place the security person asked

"So you are?"

"Oh um Leah Ramirez, this is my dad Andrew, and my brother Ivan." I said

"So you're famous?" He asked

"Um not really." I said

"You can't possibly be telling me you're not famous when you just closed down this whole block." He said

"Oh well I don't know." I said

"So how did this" he said while motioning outside "happen?" He asked

"We'll um I sorta tweeted where I was and that if they wanted to they can come meet me." I said while smiling

"Oh well you might want to have security with you next time you do one of these or possibly get yourself a personal bodyguard." He said

"Oh alright...So um how am I supposed to get out of here?" I asked

"We'll we're first trying to clear up a path so we can walk you through or we can just go trough and have about 6 security people around you." He said

"Oh alright." I said

We waited for a little bit more to see if they could clear it up but they just decided to have me go by with security people around us. We were finally able to get through and get to a cop car to get me to the hotel. I was really surprised so many people came it was crazy but I was bummed that I wasn't able to meet as many people. When we got to the hotel we went upstairs and I tweeted

"@LeahRamirez:

That was crazy! For those of you who don't know what happened, I had a meet up and the fans closed down a whole block maybe even more..."

"@LeahRamirez:

Love you guys. You're the best maybe we can do another meet up before I leave back to Michigan. :)"
