Matthew Whaley was only nine years old when he died in 1705.
Mary Whaley, his mother, built a school to honor her son's memory. The school has changed locations thrice- but in all of the three places it has stood, there is something unmistakably creepy about the school bearing Matthew's name.
Throughout the years, both students and teachers talk about ghost sightings. Rumors of footsteps in an empty hallway and other mysterious occasions run rampant.
In the current four-story elementary school, the most haunted places are the auditorium and the attic, the latter of which is off-limits to regular students.
