Alcatraz was supposedly haunted long before it housed the prison we now know it to be.
One of the creepiest stories from Alcatraz takes place in Cell 14D.
A prisoner was held captive there, in Cell 14D, solitary behind bars.
One night he started screaming about a mysterious creature with glowing eyes was attacking him. He cried for help.
The guards thought him insane and ignored the poor inmate.
The next morning, they found the body of the man, lying on the floor. He'd been strangled to death.
But that's not all.
The guards also found on the body multiple strange wounds. The doctors said that these wounds could not have been self-inflicted.
