"But there's one thing for you to be certain about!"

The white-haired woman traced her index finger in the air, making a luminescent, glowing line that appeared between them. That same glowing line soon morphed into a sword that looked exactly like the Moonlight Aspirations Rosetta Sword.

"While a star spirit is a similar concept as a guardian for a disciple of the sect, I'm solely a guardian for the sword of yours. The Moonlight Aspira- yeah you know what, that's a ridiculously long and cringeworthy name for my sword."

Huh? What did she just say? The luminescent sword dissipated as the woman smiled back at Lanying.

"Your. . .sword?"

"Yep! My sword! It isn't originally called whatever you abbreviated as M.A.R.S."

M.A.R.S? This was rather confusing for Lanying. Who was she exactly? Why does her words sound so odd? But rather than thinking about the sword, the girl wondered about how she even got here.

"If you don't mind me asking. . .where am I?"

When Lanying asked, the white-haired woman laughed like the glittering crystal flowers on the meadow.

"Why, in the sword's pocket realm of course. Where you first came in for your first awakening~"

So that's what it was. It was a pocket realm where her first awakening started, yet did this beautiful woman ever appear? Lanying could only remember there was another white-haired person with blue eyes but she didn't look like the one before her.

"You shouldn't think too much, Lanying. Focus on the path ahead of you first."

Crystal flowers began to form around the graceful woman as she delivered petals of blue light that came into view with her blue eyes glowing ever so brilliantly in its colors.

Lanying couldn't help but be astonished at the sight. Yet the girl had to know. . .

"Are. . .are you an ally or foe?"

"It seems that you still don't realize your reality has changed. You wouldn't be saying those words later if you were in the past, being the Fourth Miss of the Yin Family and becoming the Empress of the Yang Kingdom only to take on your own life."

So even this woman knows about her past life. How much more truths that this second life of hers will bring? It seems true that her reality had shifted once she requested to come to the Star Spirit Sect. Speaking of which. . .

"If you know about my past and had helped me with swordplay, you must be an ally of Yin Xingxing. Here I also ask, what happened to me from outside of this place? Am I still in the Star Spirit Sect?"

"Oh. . .that. Let's just say you happened to breakthrough the rest of your constellation and then passed out, so you're currently resting in Xingxing's room right about now."

She. . .She passed out?! This woman better not be toying with her!

"Back to the conversation at hand, your reality has changed and your soul separated into parts from your body. You don't even realize you're acting like a curious child who hasn't seen the world yet despite having the skills to become an Empress before. Don't you find that odd? Like you have lost sense of yourself?"

"I. . ."

Did Lanying agree or not? Now that she thinks about it, it did seem like she lost herself somewhat and the girl never even noticed it herself.

"To be honest, I've been reminiscing about my past life for some time but now I cannot feel that the life I had before was even mine in the first place. It's like. . .it's like the original me had completely disappeared."

What Lanying didn't speak about was that she felt like this era of emperors and ancient history had become more foreign to her in the course of living her second life. Having these thoughts spoken out loud or to those close to her didn't feel as right as where she currently was.

This woman in front of her. . .she felt like she could speak of it when it's her. Was this. . .Destiny?

The white-haired woman stared at Lanying with gentleness in her blue butterfly eyes.

"Do you remember the dagger that Yang Tian gave you to end your life?"

"Dagger? You mean the knife from the Phoenix Soul Sect? Yes I do, it was used to end my life when I was certain about it."

"Yes, it indeed has that kind of magic imbued in the dagger itself. . .but not only that. He didn't tell you that it was to unlock the seal on your soul."

The seal on her soul?

"The you from the past life was none other than a personality from the seal that kept your soul safe so that you could blend into the life of this ancient era."

I never thought about continuing this story for months into 2020 but after seeing many people reading it and even putting the story on their reading lists, it gave me inspiration and hope to continue writing. Thank you for reading this story, readers!~
