hi, everyone! just wanted to open this book by saying thank you all for choosing to read it. i hope you enjoy it as much as i enjoy writing it.

now for some housekeeping. i want to address a few plot points for clarification.

the story opens at the end of season six, but there are some extra elements i implemented that i want to point out:

- jj does not leave the bau (beginning s6)

- jj and will are married at the start of the book

- i (unfortunately) extended reid's headaches/hallucinations (this typically happens mid to end of s6, but i will be utilizing this plot line for longer)

- the ian doyle case plot line will occur, but i'm pushing it back (rather than end of s6, it will happen chronologically later in this book at around the end of s7 era)

- reid's birthday will come up (like it does mid s7), but i'm making it earlier. he's also a year younger in this book

i just wanted to make these notes early to avoid any confusion. with that being said, welcome to painkiller :)
