The first thing I see when I open my eyes is my mother's concerned face.
"Natalie?" She shakes my arm, "are you alright?"
"Mom?" I whisper, my throat feels papery dry and my body is still aching.
"You fainted,"she tells me, "are you feeling better?"
I stare out the window at the familiar street outside. I can't believe I'm home. Edward's all alone now. And what will happen to our child?
A young man strolls past our garden with his hands in his pockets. I gasp, and before I realize it, I am sprinting down the stairs and out the door into the garden. "Edward!" I yell.
Apart from the hoodie and jeans, he looks exactly the same as he did seconds ago. The same hair I used to run my fingers through. The same lips I have kissed countless times before. The same eyes that can send my heart racing with one stare.
He keeps walking. I bolt to his side and grab his arm. "Is it really you?" I cry out, latching onto his arm desperately.
He spins around to face me, looking confused. "Do I know you?"
