Hunter's POV

I woke up in the hotel room alone. I guess the shewolf left in the middle of the night. Good, because I had no words for her. I slowly left the bed and got dressed. As I looked myself in the mirror I noticed some marks on my neck and back.

I smirked at the thought that Alexandra would notice them. She would probably come by the pack house today so I could rub my rejection to her face.

My father was alone in his office looking at some papers. When he noticed my presence, he quickly hid them in his safe. Strange, very strange. I thought that there were no secrets between us. Maybe I was wrong.

After I finished my paperwork of the day I left the office for my room. As I walked towards my room I stopped by the kitchen for a bite. Maybe I'll see her. I tried to contact my wolf but he was giving me the silent treatment.  Petty little bitch.

I was still awake hours later. I tried to sleep but sleep never came. At some point after midnight I must have dosed of because in my dream I saw a majestic silver wolf in front of me. The wolf was panting trying to catch it's breath.

Silver wolf? It must be Alexandra. The wolf looked at me and started to bleed. I panicked and started to run in her direction, but she was moving away from me. What the hell was going on?

I stretched my hand to grab her but she was fast. Too fast. I heart a quiet Goodbye and she was lost from my sight. I called her name in agony without an answer.

I was startled to feel a pair of hands shaking me violently. My father was trying to wake me up. As I opened my eyes I felt a strong pain in my heart like a stab. I raised my head and looked at my father's pained eyes, his face was pale. I waited for him to give an explanation as to what happened.

Finally he said: A member left the pack. Who had the nerve to leave without permission? The whole pack felt the link break, they were talking together giving me a headache. I blocked them all and followed my father to his office.

I watched him as he poured a glass of whiskey and sat behind his chair. He was lost in his thoughts looking in my direction without noticing that I was with him. His reaction was strange and to be honest I was worried. Who had the power to create chaos simply by leaving the pack?

Do you know who left the pack? I asked him after sitting some time in silence. He woke up from his daze and noticed that I was with him.

I have an idea, yes. I will let you know once I'm sure. He barely finished his sentence when we heard a knock on the door.

Alpha, I need to talk to you, it's urgent. One of the doctors said as he walked into the office. It was five in the morning what was so urgent that couldn't wait for a normal hour to tell him? I noticed the state that the doctor was. Wrinkled clothes, black bags under his eyes and hair going in all directions like he was pulling them on his own.

What is it about Dr. Matheus? I heard my father. He sounds tired, drained.

It's about the girl you brought to the hospital two nights ago, Alexandra.

I sat on my chair again when I heard her name. Why was she in the hospital? Why was my father with her?

What about her? You assured me she was ok. My father questioned him. Dr.Matheus scratched the back of his head.

Is it true that she hasn't found her mate? The doctor asked.

Alec was growling in my mind. He loved our mate and he wanted her. Not only because she's his mate because he likes her. She is not our mate anymore I told him once again.

She told me that her mate wasn't in this pack and I have no reason to believe she wasn't telling the truth my father said looking at the doctor.

Well in that case she must have met him when she was younger because she had the same symptoms that show a cheating mate. Her mate slept with another and she felt it.

What did you say? I screamed at the doctor.

It's not common knowledge, but when a mate cheats on the other the soul suffers. In Alexandra's case, she felt a sharp pain in her abdomen. What had me confused in the beginning was the first time she felt it. She was sixteen at the time, it's impossible to feel your mate this early. But if she's an Al...

My father stood up and looked at me. He was furious. Leave us he ordered me.

What? I have a right to know. I told him as I stayed rooted on my seat.

No you don't he shouted. Now Hunter.

If they don't want to tell me, then I'll ask Alexandra. One thing is certain, one way or another I'll find out the truth, and when I do...

I just have to wait untill the sun is up to start asking questions.
