Xander's Pov

Alex was lying on the hospital bed looking so frail and her big eyes were filled with wonder. She was looking at me like my whole demeanor was strange, out of the ordinary. If only she knew, I laughed to myself. But one thing is for sure I have to take things slow with her. I was sure by now she was my second chance but she still seemed unaware of this turn of events. Mark tried to move away from me  like a scared little pup. It serves him right for going after my mate, his Alpha's mate.

Alex closed her eyes and a sigh left her. "What are you doing here Alpha Xander? Last time I checked this was not your office" She said trying to sound bored but I knew better, she was intrigued by my actions. I knew that it was a mistake to avoid her, but I was sure that with time I would be able to turn the situation to my favor. But first things first. She had to answer a lot of questions, she was missing for two whole weeks after all.

"Where were you Alex? I had been looking for you for two weeks, only for you to appear in front of me wounded. This time you were lucky your wound was not as severe as it seemed in the beginning, but what about next time?" She looked at me motionless and then she began laughing. This was all my fault, I led her to believe that she was insignificant to me so now I was showing her I cared, she thought it was fake. Or maybe just an Alpha's concern.

"Alpha, as you learned before my departure I'm not a weak little female. I would appreciate it if you refrained from treating me like one. If you must know I went to my father's packhouse to find out the truth, or at least parts of it. It was a hard pill to swallow as what I found out changed my whole perspective on life but what can you do when the truth slaps you in the face?" She lost her edge and she layed back on the bed again. I kept watching her afraid to ask about her findings but If I were to help her I had to ask the tough questions.

"What did you find after all these years? What secrets could a dead house hold? Why did you treat Alpha Smith this way? All he ever did was care for you" Her eyes, this blue abyss turned their focus on me again. I really hoped she would answer me, the more she talked the calmer she seemed. I moved closer to her and took my seat beside her bed. When she accepted that I was not leaving before I got my answers she moved her hand towards her bag. I passed her bag to her and with trembling hands she revealed a leatherbound journal and some call logs.

"When I first arrived at the house I had no idea what I was looking for. I went in blind with the little information I knew. You said it yourself somethings didn't add up, so I started with my father's office were I found the first indications that there was a traitor in the pack. The doctor responsible for my father's and mother's health hid the fact that they were poisoned. Wolfsbane. Even a medical student can read the results and find it how could she missed it? And then I found their room and my nursery. In my bag you will find a tape, you'll need a VCR Alpha to watch the content but after you see it you will understand why I treated Alpha Black the way I did."

She was closing up I could feel it. Before she got the change to throw me out of her room I stood and took the tape along with the journal with me. Back in my office I called my father and asked for his input. If someone could understand the late Alpha was my father. I also had to dig up a VCR so I could watch the tape. My father arrived with a case in his hands full of papers I have never seen before.

"What are all these? " I asked as he sat in the seat in front of me. He looked at me like I was stupid and opened the first file. "This my dear son is research. When you told me about Alex and who she really is I couldn't hold my self. Curiosity got the best of me and did some digging in the most known bloodlines. You know, werewolf history. And then I remembered that after the fall of the Full Moon Pack a package arrived addressed to me with instructions to open it when the time was right. The sender was unknown so I just logged it and stored it at the time. I have to admit that Jason was a very smart man. He made sure that even after his death his little girl would always be protected. I'm proud to call him my friend.

This files contain all of the information about the rouges and their bloodline. He was trying to find their motive behind the proposals and a few days before his demise he figured it out. Or at least I think he reached in the same conclusion I did after reading these."  I started to read and the more I dived into the story, the more curious I became. It was one thing to have files in all of the legal packs but to keep files on rouge packs as well? This was almost impossible. But I was looking at the files in front of me, they maybe over twenty years since the last entry, but the first was 900 years old.

Rumor had it that the Full Moon Pack were the descendants of Alisha. What I was looking at, was proof that it wasn't just an empty rumor, but the truth. "Did you know about this? About who they really were?" I asked my father. "Keep reading, it only gets better" he said while nodding his head. Ok, he got me there.  As one page turned to a hundred and the bloodlines cleared I finally understood.

Our pack were the descendants of Alisha's second mate, the pack that shunned him. But the next revelation was the worst. Both Alpha Smith's pack and the rouge pack came from the same bloodline. From Alisha's first mate, the one that rejected her. What they really wanted was the power their ancestor threw away, they thought they were entitled to it. And history had already began to repeat itself.

What would Alex do if she found out about this?
