Chapter 13

Steph's POV

Hayden was laying in the bed and Callie was laying next to her soon a doctor came in the room

Doctor: hi I'm dr Smith, I just talked with Hayden's doctor I know we have iv antibiotics running but he wants me to take a look at her arm

Steph: ok

Dr Smith walked over to Hayden's bed and pulled a chair up next to her and sat down

Dr Smith: Hi Hayden I'm Dr. Smith I talked to your doctor and she told me that you have some stiches in your arm and that it could be infected. I'm going to take your bandage off and look at it okay

Jessica: okay

Dr. Smith took the bandage off and looked at her arm he then put some quaze over it and walked over to me

Dr. Smith: can I talk with you out in the hall please

Steph: of course

I followed Dr. Smith out into the hallway, he had a serious look on his face

Dr. Smith: Hayden's arm is really infected I'm going to have to take her back for surgery to remove the skin around it and clean it

Steph: how soon are you wanting to do it

Dr. Smith: as soon as possible

Steph: can you give me a few hours so that I can get my wife and the other kids here

Dr. Smith: of course

Dr. Smith walked to the desk and I called Lena

on the phone with Lena

Lena: hello

Steph: hey 

Lena: how is Hayden

Steph: her arm is really infected and needs to have surgery right away

Lena: okay I'm on my way, do I need to bring Halley with me

Steph: let me talk to Hayden real quick and I'll let you know

Lena: okay

Steph: bye

Lena: bye

after I got off the phone with Lena I went back into Hayden's room, Callie was still holding her

Callie's POV

Mom walked back in the room and sat down next to Hayden's bed 

Hayden: what's the matter

Steph: they need to do surgery again on your arm

Hayden: oh

Steph: I called Lena and she wants to know if she should tell Halley and bring her here

Hayden: no let her stay in school, I don't want to worry her

Steph: okay love, I'll let Lena know

Step kissed Hayden's head and got up and left the room, Once she was gone I moved over to Hayden and held her

Callie: hey it's going to be okay

Hayden: I'm scared Callie

Callie: I know you are but this is going to help   

Hayden nodded I decided to turn the tv on and turned it to the disney channle and Decendents were on, Hayden and I sat there and watched it until mom and mama came into the room

Lena: Hi love

Hayden: hi

Lena: Mom told me what's going on

Hayden: Halley doesn't know right?

Lena: no Halley doesn't know, Marianna is going to pick her put from school

Hayden: okay

Hayden laid her headon my shoulder and I wrapped my arm around her and held her until the nurse came in

Nurse: okay Miss Hayden I'm going to take you back 

Hayden grabbed my hand

Steph: Callie do you want to go back with her until she falls asleep

Callie: yes but if you want to be with her....

Steph: mama and I both want to be with her but right now I think it's best if your the one who goes in with her she needs you and she is calmer when your with her

Callie: only if your sure

Lena: we are sure love

Callie: thank you mama

Both Lena and I hugged Hayden and the nurse took her and Callie back. Lena and I went and sat down not long after Callie came out and sat down with us

Steph: you okay

Callie: yeah, that was hard seeing her go to sleep like that

Steph: I know baby

Lena's phone went off and she looked at it

Lena's POV

my phone went off and I looked at it and noticed it was a text from Marianna

[text between Lena and Marianna]

Mari: how is Hayden

Lena: They just took her back to surgery, did you get Halley from school

Mari: yes, she's asking about Hayden

Lena: what did you tell her

Mari: that she was with you, mom and Callie but she keeps asking me what's going on. I don't know what else to tell her

Lena: call me

Mari: ok

I looked at steph 

Steph: what

Lena: Halley is asking questions

Callie: you should just tell her

Steph: Hayden didn't want her to know Callie

Callie: I know and I will deal with Hayden but if Halley is anything like Hayden or me then she won't stop

Lena: I agree with Callie

Steph: okay let's tell her then

[phone call]

Lena: hi baby

Mari: hi mama

Lena: is Hayden with you

Mari: yeah she's right here

Lena: can I talk to her

Marianna handed the phone to Halley

Halley: hello

Lena: hi Halley

Halley: where is Hayden

Lena: she's at the hospital with Steph, Callie and I

Halley: why what happened

Lena: her arm is really infected

Halley: can I talk to her

Lena: not right now love, the doctor had to take her back for surgery

Halley: again

Lena: yes

Halley: I want to come

Lena: put Marianna back on the phone for me

Halley handed the phone to Marianna

Mari: hello

Lena: can you bring Halley here

Mari: on our way now

Lena: thank you sweets

Steph, Callie and I sat in the waiting room and waited for Marianna and Halley to get there
