Part 15

Callie's POV

We all went downstairs and got food, I just sat there and stared at mine, I couldn't eat I was too worried. So many things were going through my mind, How long has Hayden had this brain tumor, why didn't she ever say anything about her head hurting. Did one of her foster families cause this. I have no idea how she will react when we tell her.

Lena: Callie, love you need to try and eat

Callie: I'm not hungry

Steph: Callie you not eating isn't going to do anything to help Hayden

Callie: nothing I do is going to help Hayden, Look where we are I didn't fight hard enough to find her and Halley after the car accident

Bill: Callie, we were told that Hayden and Halley had died, you didn't know anything else. That's all I had known too

Callie: I didn't do enough, their social worker didn't do enough

Lena: Callie

Callie: how many foster homes were they in before they went to live with Steph and Lena

Bill: I'm not sure

Halley: a lot

Callie: was any of them good

Halley: not really, most of the time they just wanted me. Hayden and I were split up of a while but then we got to be together again

Callie: why were you split up

Halley: it was shortly after we went into foster care, Hayden needed help with things, no one would tell me what it was but the foster family I was with was really nice I'd get to see Hayden a lot. When Hayden got to come back with me we lived with that foster family for 4 months.

Callie: what happened with them

Halley: they wanted to adopt us but something happened and Hayden couldn't be adopted, they said they would keep us though and they did until our foster dad got a job offer in a different state. He wasn't going to take it so we could stay with him but Hayden could see he really wanted to take the job so she told them to go and that we would be fine. I still text Jamie sometimes

Lena: who's Jamie

Halley: she was our foster mom

Lena: can I have her number please

Halley: yeah

Halley gave Lena her phone and Lena got up and walked away

Steph: are you done eating Halley

Halley: yeah

We sat there for a little while then Lena came back and handed Halley her phone. Not long after Hayden's doctor called and Steph Lena Bill and I went back to the small room while Halley stayed with the others

Doctor: so I wasn't able to remove the whole tumor due to where it is on her brain, we also placed a port because I am going to start her on chemo tomorrow.

Steph: what is the plan from here

Doctor: we will wake her up in a few hours, she is being moved to a room now. Depending on what the lab shows will tell us how long she will need chemo. I feel like we have a really good chance of making her better. We will keep her here for a few weeks though

We all got up and went out to everyone else

Halley: is she okay

Lena: yes. they are going to move her to a room then we will be able to go see her

Halley: what's going to happen

Steph: the doctor wasn't able to remove all of the tumor but did get some of it. Hayden will start on some medican to help her
