Chapter 14

Halley's POV

Marianna drove us to the hospital, all I know is that her arm is infected again and they had to take her back into surgery. I'm so scared I'm going to lose my sister. I'm sitting in Marianna's car looking out the window

Marianna: what are you thinking about Halley

Halley: Hayden

Marianna: what about Hayden

Halley: I'm scared I'm going to lose my sister, I have come close to losing her twice now

Marianna: what do you mean

Halley: the car accident we were in with our mom and dad, Hayden got really hurt and was in the hospital for a long time she had to have a machine breath for her for a while

Marianna: she had a brain bleed right

Halley: yeah 

Marianna: when was the second time?

Halley: 5 months ago when we were living with another foster family our foster dad beat Hayden she hit her head and then she wouldn't wake up he called 911 and said that she tripped on the stairs and fell, Hayden had to have a machine breath for her again but the doctor said he wasn't sure how she would recover from it

Marianna: but she did and she's still with us, Halley I know all of this is hard but I want you to beleive me when I say my mom and mama will never hurt you or Hayden

Halley: I know they won't, this is the first time being in a foster home that I don't feel scared in

Marianna: lets go inside okay

Marianna and I got out of the car, I walked around and Marianna took my hand and we walked into the hospital and went to the waiting room and found Steph, Lena and Callie

Marianna's POV

Just listening to Halley talk about what her and Hayden have been through breaks my heart. Jesus and I had been through things but we were so young that we don't really remember much. Once we got to the hospital Halley took my hand and we walked into the hospital and made our way to the waiting room with Mom, Mama and Callie

Steph: hey Halley love

Halley: how is she

Steph: she's still in surgery

Halley: oh

Lena: the doctor will be out to talk to us soon I'm sure

Halley: okay

Halley sat down inbetween mom and mama and I sat next to Callie

Marianna: you okay

Callie: I really don't know I'm so scared 

Marianna: I know Cal 

Dr: Hayden Jacob's family

Steph: yes

Dr: can I have you come back to a room for a minute so we can talk

Steph: um sure

Lena: you and Callie go I'll wait out here with Mari and Halley

Halley: no you go too Lena 

Lena: are you sure

Halley nodded

Marianna: I'll stay here with her mama

Lena: thank you love

Callie's POV

Mom, Mama and I followed the doctor into a small room we all sat down

Dr: after we started working on Hayden's arms she had a seziour we stopped the surgery and got her out of it, we took her for a ct scan and she has a tumor on her brain, Dr. Stewart who is our pediatic nerosurgian is looking at her scan now and will be in here to talk with you about the next step.
