Due to how much of an angst the last chapter was for people, I said that I would make an alternative chapter. But, as I was trying to write it, I realized just how hard it would be to make a happily ever after following the context of the story so instead of making an alternate ending, I will instead make a Christmas special for my dear readers. I'm sorry that I got your hopes up with the alternate ending. I hope you can forgive me.

If I @ you, either you requested for an alternate chapter like this or I thought you may like to read this. Sorry if it bothered you. And also to those I didn't add, I'm sorry.... I read through all 323 comments for the last chapter and I didn't know if other people requested for another chapter on the other chapters of the book. It took a whole so please forgive author san.

Now let's get to the special!

This is placed a little before y/n's death because they weren't able to get married. She died before they got married and the letter she wrote was before Diluc confessed if anyone is confused.

~~~~~
"Merry Christmas," Diluc covered your eyes as he placed his chin over your head.
Dropping the pen that you held in your hand from Diluc's sudden appearance, you crossed your arms and looked up towards Diluc after he removed his hands from over your eyes.
"Really," you shook your head.
"What," Diluc shrugged, a teasing smile painting his face. "Its Christmas. That's enough working for now you workaholic."
"Fine," you giggled as you stopped up and gave Diluc a peck on the cheek. "It seems that our roles have switched for today. It's usually me who stops you from working."
"Hush," Diluc averted his eyes not knowing how to come back from that.
"I'll go check up on everything else first," you hummed.
"Wait-"
Quickly running from the office where you were working in for the Winery - to Diluc's demise, you passed the maids and the butlers who were preparing for the Christmas party for the night. Ever since you had come to the Winery and started working with Diluc, you had made it a thing to always have a Christmas party for everyone in the Winery.
"Do you need any help Adeline?" You asked one of the maids who were looking at the plan for the party.
"Nope," Adeline smiled at you. "Just enjoy the day with Diluc."
"Are you sure," you looked at her with a dejected look feeling bad that everyone but her and Diluc were fixing up the party.
"I'm sure," Adeline said. "You should go to your dear lover or else he's going to be sad that you're not there with him. I'm sure you ran away from him again after he told you to stop working."
You laughed under your breath knowing that what she had said was the truth. Once you started working, you couldn't help but want to keep on working. That was one of your flaws. Once you were in the working mindset, it was hard to get you out of it for the day.
Walking back towards the office where Diluc would most likely be, you jumped on his back and hugged him from behind.
"Merry Christmas Diluc!"
"You have to stop running to look for more work," Diluc shook his head as you pried your fingers from his neck and gently pushed you down.
"Ok ok," you giggled.
Turning towards you, Diluc kissed your forehead, "While everyone is fixing up, let's go outside so we don't disturb them."
"Sure," you held Diluc's hand, looking up at him with cheerful eyes.
Walking out the door, the two of you were met with a gust of cold air in contrast to the warmth of the mansion. Shivering from the cold, you turned towards the door regretting that you forgot to bring a sweater. Suddenly out of nowhere, you felt a weight on your shoulders as a familiar warmth enveloped you.
"Diluc?" You looked at the coat which he had put over you.
"Just wear my coat so that you don't have to go back inside."
He pulled you with him to walk towards the path away from the mansion and towards the forest encompassing it. The coat which weighed you down felt comforting since you could feel Diluc's warmth from it. You couldn't help but pull the coat to fully cover you.
"What about you?" You asked Diluc who just kept on walking while holding your hand.
"I have a pyro vision. I'm fine," Diluc smiled at you. "It's not much of a bother to me."
"Ok," you gripped Diluc's hand a little tighter in hopes to warm his hand even if just a little.
The two of you continued following the path with Diluc leading the way for the both of you. Hand-in-hand, it was a peaceful walk. Leaves billowing in the wind, the sun lighting up the scenery, the sky blue and void of any clouds.
"Where are we going?" You asked Diluc.
Diluc simply smiled at you and continued to walk and lead you towards where he wanted to bring you. Not knowing what else to you, you just let yourself be led by him.
A little while after the walk, Diluc stopped right in front of a tree. The wind blowing the leaves, you could feel nostalgia filling your heart. As the smile on your face grew bigger, Diluc whistled and Dawn flew towards his arm with something cluched in her talon.
Squawking from seeing you, Dawn left the item in Diluc's hand before flying to your shoulder and nuzzling you with her beak.
Kneeling down to the floor and holding up the item that Dawn had brought towards you, Diluc looked straight into your eyes.
"You changed me y/n," Diluc confessed. "Without you, I wouldn't have been this happy. Without you, I wouldn't be smiling like this. I love you. Will you marry me?"
"Yes," you knelt down to Diluc and kissed him. "You changed me too Diluc. You saved me. Ever since we first met all those years ago and raised Dawn together at this tree, I've wanted to see you."
His hand over your cheek, you smiled and hugged him after Dawn flew towards a branch on the tree that the both of you were under.
Both of you hugging each other under the tree as Dawn watched you from the branch, you would now be a happy family the the one you loved and cherished with all your heart.
