Kirk entered the turbolift with Spock as they were leaving Yorktown with the new alien, Kalara.

"Mr. Spock."

"Captain."

"I was thinking-" Kirk said, as Spock said, "perhaps there-"

The two men looked at each other, "no, please."

"Captain, after you. I insist."

"After this mission, we should, uh, sit down. There's something I need to talk to you about."

"I as well have something to share."

The two looked at each other and nodded, "We make a good team, right?"

"I believe we do," Spock nodded.

Kirk smiled, "I insist," he then followed Spock onto the bridge.

Kirk sat in his chair as they left Yorktown, now in space. "Lieutenant Uhura, open a ship-wide channel."

"Yes, Captain."

"Attention, crew of the Enterprise. Our mission is straightforward. Recuse a crew stranded on a planet in uncharted space. Our trajectory will take us through an unstable nebula, one which will disable all communications with Starfleet. We're gonna be on our own," Kirk said as the Enterprise flew through the storm and asteroid field. "The Enterprise has something no other ship has... You. And as we've come to understand, there is no such thing as unknown... Only the temporarily hidden. Kirk out."

Everyone was quiet as they flew through the storm, "mmm, readings indicate cloud diminishing, sir," Chekov nodded.

The Enterprise flew to a planet as Kalara spoke, a small translation device on her, "this is Altamid; my ship was stranded here."

They got closer as Spock said, "approaching Altamid. Class-M planet. Massive subterranean development, but limited to no life forms on the surface."

"Proximity alert, sir!" Chekov spoke up, "we have an unknown ship heading right for us."

"Lieutenant Uhura, hail them."
