Chapter 39: Home (Vanessa's POV)
"Vanessa."
I chose to ignore the whispers that were trying to wake me up the next morning.
"Nessa," he said, a little louder this time.
I groaned, pulling away from him and rolling over so my back faced him.
"Hey," he chuckled, grabbing my waist and pulling me into him but I kept my eyes closed. "Hello," he sang, lifting his arm from my waist and bringing a hand to my face, brushing my hair away and stroking my cheek softly. "Vanessa, wake up. Come on. We have a flight to catch and we haven't even packed our things."
I huffed, opening my eyes. "That's the first thing you say to me when I wake up?"
"No. The first thing I said was good morning, my love. But you went back to sleep five seconds later."
I do faintly remember him saying something and kissing my forehead but I was too sleepy to comprehend any of it.
"Wake up," he whispered against my ear and then kissed my cheek before letting me go and climbing out of bed but I rolled over onto my stomach, determined to stay in a bed a little longer. "I'm going to brush my teeth and wash up, you better be up by the time I get out, okay?"
"Hmm," I mumbled, not moving. I heard the bathroom door close and still did nothing to get out of bed, made no move, not even an inch. I was falling back asleep when the bathroom door opened but I couldn't be bothered to open my eyes.
"Jesus Christ, Vanessa." He walked over and I felt him climb and lay on top of me, on my back. "Get up," he mumbled, peppering kisses along my cheek.
"Get off of me," I grumbled. "I can't breathe."
"Wake up."
"Get off."
"Wake up."
"Get off and I will."
He sighed and slowly got back. "Wake up," he said a little louder.
I still didn't move. He pushed the covers off my legs but I wasn't naked, so I didn't care. I had on his t-shirt and my own underwear.
"Vanessa, I'm going to count to three."
I snickered.
"One... two..." Then he smacked my butt. Hard.
My eyes snapped open and I rolled over quickly, staring at him in disbelief.
He laughed, seeing the look on my face. "Get up."
"Did you just spank me?" I chuckled, sitting up and kneeling on the bed right in front of him.
